A long-forecast and dreaded announcement came recently from the head of the "Change" Administration himself. The astonishing sequence of end-runs, by the "Change" Administration - around traditional and critical structures which preserve the U.S. Constitution- and its balance of powers - seems about to take its greatest toll to date. The protections provided by the 3 American branches of government have continued to erode via Obama's unprecedented installation of "Czars" - ie, politically hand-picked individuals who are given enormous powers over free enterprise - and whom report directly to the Chief Executive himself. This newly invented system for expanding Executive branch authority, among its other dangers, eliminates the need for Congressional approval or involvement with these power-packed new authority figures. It also short-circuits Capitol Hill oversight of the activities which they undertake.

Obama has made public today his plan to take control of the Internet - directly from the White House - on behalf of preserving "Cyber-security." This strategy to expand his authority to encroach further on Americans right to privacy - with warrant less supervision of online activity - has been in the works since the Inauguration. The timing of its current announcement holds notable coincidence to the Chief Executive's recent decline in public opinion polls (along with the downhill slide of popularity among his key Congressional leadership (Pelosi, Reid and Dodd.)

Former Democratic activists who worked against Obama's nomination are among those most aware of the alarm bells this current move to suppress opposition sets off. His online primary campaign, which generated maximum impact via use of high tech applications-is recalled by many for its brutality and vicious conduct against web opponents in 2008. Several reported personal threats while many more indicated repeated disruption of their blogs and large-scale attacks on their forums. Throughout the campaign season, an online army of campaign-paid web thugs were hired for these intrusions, as reported and verified by FOX News. Intimidation, verbal threats, gutter language and even obscene images were the order of the day.

Those in the know, then are acutely aware, then, that the "threats to security" listed by this Head of State in his televised speech today ironically coincide with tactics similar to some his own campaign used to get elected. An Obama small-dollar-on-line donor even reported receiving a phone call on his unlisted cell phone to remind him of a "Meet Up" in his own neighborhood - this despite the fact that the donor had not supplied the campaign with either his cell number nor his physical address! At least one Nigerian husband and wife both confessed last year to using their executive positions with international tech corporations to obtain personal records of U.S. citizens for use in harassment by the "Change" campaign.

In the meantime, while specifics of the new leader's rationale remain to be seen, it's already foreshadowed they will be as far-reaching as possible. Obama's sweeping statements about the urgent need to protect everything from banking records, to online purchases to information exchange. Rumors have indicated that the NSA is also disturbed that this new report-to-President only position would also circumvent this agency's normal role in cyber-watching. Further evidence of the long-term planning of this eradication of online privacy plan lies in the fact that Senators Rockefeller and Snowe introduced a bill in Congress on April 1st to give the White House these cyber-space powers.

One could ask: How does the rest of Congress feel about turning over their responsibility and authority to the Executive Branch? Also, if the right to online privacy is allowed follow the path of warrantless phone wire-tapping what does Big Brother have in mind next? And lest we wonder who might be put on the Cyber Czar's Watch List, just remember the recent Homeland Security Warning that "right wing extremists" (ie any citizens identified as "Change administration opponents) are now a grave threat. Even a child could connect quickly connect the dots between that recent DHS Alert and the press conference on cyber-security threats today! It’s not hard to gauge whose "security" seems to feel most threatened. The only question that remains is how much more terror - against free enterprise and freedom of speech - will We the People permit the "Change" Administration to undertake?!

GOPs in Congress have called for an inquiry into the controversial Homeland Security Report - which identified domestic "right wing extremists" as a grave terrorist threat to the U.S. House Republicans have called for a full disclosure of documents explaining how this report was produced and disseminated and including discussions about privacy issues raised by its contents.

When leaked to the press last month, the DHS reference that “returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists" triggered strong reactions from veterans groups. The report also stated that "radical groups could be fueled by discontent over the recession, possible gun-control legislation, divisions over immigration matters and the election of the first black president." After public protests at the report's politically aimed contents, DHS Chief Napolitano (D) claimed that the distribution of this report to law enforcement agencies nationwide was "a mistake."

It is historically rare for a "resolution of inquiry" to move forward. However it looks like scrutiny into this veiled DHS attack on Administration critics may be an exception. As one Republican aid told Congress Daily: “The fact that the Democratic majority went from calling this (call for an inquiry) the nuclear option and calling this a stunt to embracing it … is phenomenal.” Even Committee Chair Thompson (D, MS-2) appeared sympathetic and did not direct other Committee Democrats to vote it down. As the next few days and weeks reel off the pages of the calendar, be prepared for a flurry of activity on Capital Hill as the Democrat Socialist Party pushes the Sotomayor nomination for the Supreme Court through as quickly as possible. Nothing much will change in the way The Court makes decisions now as Sotomayor is simply replacing another liberal, David Souter. However, the stage is being set for the N E X T opening on the court coming soon, I expect, much sooner than any Americans might believe. Once the Democrat Socialist Party controls the SCOTUS, they will have a complete lock on the government of the United States - and if you think you have seen socialism at work in the past few weeks, believe me when I tell you, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Now, I want to say something - something that is on a lot of commentator’s minds, but many, however, are afraid to express their concerns about it. For the first time since the American Civil War, Americans are afraid that their free speech guarantee is worthless. And, to a degree, they are correct in feeling that way.

I want to be absolutely clear here when I say I do not want to see this country torn apart by another war such as we experienced in the mid 1800’s. Yes, I refer to the War Between the States. Some call it the Civil War. (The War Between the States is the congressionally approved name for that conflict.)

I love the US and I do not want to see her spilt again. But, if one steps back and looks objectively at what is happening in this country today it is actually quite easy to see that we are on the brink of just such a horrible, horrible, thing happening all over again. As a nation we stand today on the razor’s thin edge. We could easily fall either way.

As a member of an international organization which studies the era of the American Civil War, the people involved, and the reasons for the war, including the mistakes made that led to the war, I can tell you I am frightened for my country. Why? Because I see the US making the same mistakes it made then and I see the very same reactions by the citizens of the country toward the government today that our ancestors had in 1861. The faultline that divided the country then, and that many had hoped had been filled-in and was gone forever, is again pushing upward and breaking the surface in warning with an admonition to Americans that the slightest tremor will bring the bursting open of that gap splitting the country apart once again.

As conservatives try to put together a political party of their own and rid themselves of the anvil around their necks (the GOP) there has been much talk from northern and northeastern politicians of the Republican and Democrat Socialist Parties of the formation of a regional party by conservatives. For the uniniated, that is code for a “Southern Party.” As a conservative, I can tell you that is NOT the intention of the conservatives. It is NOT what we want. But, having said that, it is becoming clear the politicians who will not accept the cultural differences between the two regions of this country are pushing us in that direction.

Probably the most glaring cultural difference between the Southern American culture and the remainder of the country is our relationship with guns. We are a gun culture. In many southern homes the Bible and the gun share near equal respect. Needless to say the southern American is greatly concerned over Sotomayor’s’ stance on gun control. She has affirmed that she believes the constitution only ties the hands of the federal government in restricting the right to keep and bear arms. In other words, she believes the individual states can restrict gun rights, pretty much, as they choose. Last year, in August 2008, Sotomayor affirmed the district court opinion in Maloney v. Cuomo, which ruled that the Constitution does not prohibit state governments from restricting the right to bear arms.

In that decision the court said that “the Second Amendment applies only to limitations the federal government seeks to impose on this right [that is the right to bear arms]. Needless to say, this is extremely troublesome to southerners and, of course, other gun owners across the nation. I would venture to say the “sovereignty movement”, in so many of the southern states today, was, at least, partially triggered by the fear of the government taking, confiscating, our guns. If there is one single overriding issue that would cause the creation of a “Southern Party” and, eventually, another serious “secessionist movement”, it would be a move by the government to confiscate our guns, through what the so-called “gun-grabbers” refer to as reasonable gun control. To a gun culture such as my region of the country there is no such thing as REASONABLE GUN CONTROL.

The problem is, our fellow Americans in the northern and northeastern states, as well as some of the liberal west coast states, do not, cannot, and never will, understand that. We southerners, on the other hand, have no intention of giving one inch on our belief that no government body whether federal, or state, or county, or even a lowly city council, has a right to take our guns. We believe, way down in our bones, that any so-called reasonable gun control is the “camel’s nose under the tent” type of Incrementalism and to allow even what may seem, on it’s face, as “reasonable” only allows the camel to push it’s nose deeper into the tent, until pretty soon the entire camel is in the tent with you - and your guns are gone!

Just as the southern states warned the federal government, beginning in the 1820’s and continuing throughout the 1830’s, the 1840’s and 1850’s, that those unfair taxes levied against the southern states would eventually blow up in the federal government’s face, current warnings about gun control are, also, going unheeded. The “gun culture states” have been warning the government for decades now that a serious gun control campaign by those governments will blow up in their faces with truly awful consequences. THAT is just how serious this is to southerners.
The Judicial Confirmation Network has issued a statement we recommend you read. It is titled: “JCN Statement on nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court” and you will find it HERE.
As a conservative I have no doubt Sotomayor will be approved by the US Senate and will take her seat as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. But you need to understand that her seat is simply a building block toward complete and utter control of the Supreme Court by the liberal/socialists running the US government today.

The Obama Administration certainly seems content to allow Iran to build an “A” bomb even with the knowledge of what Iran will do with that bomb and what the proxies of Iran will do with the “other” bombs Iran will build and surely divvy out to their lackeys in the various Islamofacist farm teams around the world, several of which are active here in this hemisphere and even in this country.

It is becoming even clearer as each day goes by that the Obama administration is not going to do a single thing to stop Iran from acquiring the bomb. And after the head of the CIA, Leon Panetta, flew (secretly) to Israel recently to read the riot act to Israel in an attempt to scare Israel into stopping their planned raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, it is apparent that Obama is desperate to stop Israel. I have to wonder if Mr. Obama understands just how difficult it is to frighten a people who lost six million of their own to another terrorist state in the twentieth century. It is damn near impossible - and the sooner Obama understands that, the better off his relationship with Israel will be. For the moment, US/Israeli relations have tanked.

One has to wonder just how those American Jews who supported Obama, in his run for the presidency, feel now as they find themselves in the same situation their recent ancestors found themselves with FDR in the White House and their relatives in Europe being gassed to death by the Nazis while the White House chose to look the other way.

We are rapidly approaching the day when another six million Jews will be killed if SOMEBODY doesn’t do SOMETHING to stop Iran. From the Obama White House we can expect nothing but Jimmy Carter diplomacy, which was to “speak softly and do nothing.”

So here is a news flash for Mr. Obama and the White House: Get ready for all hell to break loose in the Middle East. It is coming as surely as night follows day - and very soon.

After the chief spook, Panetta, flew in with his bullying tactic, Israel, understands, even better now, that they stand alone. What Obama and his bully boys do not seem to grasp is that once that visit by Panetta was ended, Israel was free from any constraints upon them by the US to go ahead and make their much planned and rehearsed raid as soon as possible, the sooner the better.

Washington does understand that once the Middle East goes up in flames all the things they worry about, primarily the free flow of oil from the Gulf region to the rest of the world, will certainly be curtailed, if not stopped entirely. Oil tankers attempting to navigate the Straits of Hormuz will most likely be hit by Iranian missiles, set ablaze, and sunk in the straits, effectively closing them to all oil shipments out of that region. THAT is the point at which the US military will be involved and we will then have a three front war in the Middle East. Obama IS smart enough to know that once the missiles begin to rain down on American sailors, on American ships, the American people will demand that the US military strike back at Iran with everything we have.

Look, a head-on military conflict between Iran and the US is unavoidable unless Obama is willing to sacrifice six million more Jews AND the state of Israel. It certainly looks, today, as if Mr. Obama is ready to do that very thing.

After all the apologies Obama made in his “victory tour” of Europe, following his election, I have to ask - is there no end to the shame his government is willing to bring upon the people of the United States?

The popular TV series, “Hawaii Five-O”, made the line, “Book’m, Danno”, famous as a signoff. The world has surely arrived at a point when we need to say, “Nuke’m” to nations like North Korea and Iran. There simply is no alternative.

Well, not exactly. There is an alternative and it involves North Korea selling a small nuclear weapon to some Islamofascist to smuggle into the United States and destroy one or more of our cities and millions of our citizens.

The memory of the recent slaughter of 3,000 of our countrymen is already fading swiftly.

Soon enough, Iran will be making their own such devices and, since the United States has been their “Great Satan” for the past three decades, they too may choose this option. It is more likely they will fulfill their mission to bring about the return of the Twelfth Imam, a mythical Islamic Shiite figure, by plunging the world into a nuclear holocaust.

Perhaps it will begin with a nuclear attack on Israel, though Israel’s history suggests they will not let that happen. Having risen like the phoenix from the ashes of the Holocaust they will not permit such evil.

All this is occurring at a time when we have a pacifist in the White House who is just too eager to “extend the olive branch” to Iran and to scold North Korean instead of marshaling the world’s nations to impose sanctions that will bring its government to ruin.

A nation has to get lucky in its choice of leaders in times like these and the United States is the most unlucky of nations to have fallen into the hands of Barack Obama and his Democrat toadies in a Congress led by two of the greatest ignoramuses to have held the offices of Senate Majority Leader and Speaker of the House.

“History teaches that wars begin when governments believe the price of aggression is cheap,” said Ronald Reagan, noting too that “If history teaches anything, it teaches self-delusion in the face of unpleasant facts is folly.”

It is folly to think Iran is not working night and day to make its own nuclear weapons and it is folly to think they will not use them.

It is folly to think that North Korea can be contained and can be restrained from continuing to make nuclear weapons and the missiles to carry them because the latest test of an atomic device and firing of missiles was North Korea’s way of advertising its wares for sale.

North Korea has been described as China’s dagger, a rogue nation presumably under its control, to keep the United States tied up in South Korea since the truce in 1953 that left a permanent state of war between the two halves of that vast peninsula. North Korea threatens both South Korea and Japan, American allies. If it were not so useful, China could crush it in the course of a week’s time.

What we do know is that, most recently, North Korea was assisting Syria in the construction of a nuclear facility until Israel turned it into a parking lot. North Korea is a global arms merchant that will sell to anyone with the cash to buy their deadly merchandise.

Not all the pretenses of the United Nations have any useful impact on North Korea, nor has the UN been of any use in the Middle East that just packed its human rights council with representatives of the worst despots on earth. The United States funds a quarter of its budget.

It is doubtful that President Obama has a clue regarding the history of the past half century, the reason the Korean War was fought, the reformation of China from a crazed Maoist third-rate nation into one that has embraced capitalism in all but name. It is doubtful, too, that the lessons of World War II, the appeasement of the Nazi regime, the butchery and plundering undertaken by the 20th century imperialist Japanese Empire has penetrated his mind.

Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford understood the threat. Neither Presidents Carter, nor Clinton did. President Reagan did, along with Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.

For President Obama who along with Clinton never wore a military uniform, any attack on the United States is the fault of the United States. He is utterly devoted to the belief that common ground can be found with Islamic fanatics whose goal is a global caliphate.The United States is seen by many around the world these days as a wounded giant, a failing economic power. As such our enemies will see these times as perfect for an attack. We have replaced a President who warned the world that America would launch a preemptive attack if threatened with a President whose first instinct is to apologize for America’s past policies and actions.

Having just celebrated Memorial Day to honor the men and women who gave their lives to protect history’s most unique experiment in self-government, in freedom, and in liberty, we have arrived at a point in time when all the signs point to the loss of our nation to those devoted to our destruction.

We are a nation that will not defend our southern border against the wholesale invasion of millions of illegal aliens, bleeding us of billions to provide healthcare, to educate their children, to live with the crime they bring to our streets. The President has stopped the building of a fence to slow that tide and proposes to close the detention center of its most rabid Islamic enemies.

We shall either summon the courage to act in our defense or we shall be a chapter in the book written by our enemies, describing how we hesitated…and lost.

My old Pappy used to say that the persecution of the early Christian Church was the greatest thing to happen to the church since the Resurrection. It forced the church to spread through out the modern world of that era. In doing so, it spread the Gospel, the “Good News” of the newly formed Christian church and sank its roots deep into what had, until that time, been pagan soil.

Judging from the news coming out of San Diego, California, it’s a mighty good thing they don’t have coliseums and lions there. For if they did, well, you get the picture.

Wait a minute! You DON’T get the picture! Haven’t you heard of the strident measures the government is taking there to squelch religion taught in the home? Apparently, many of you have not.

Well, now. It would behoove us to fill you in so you can have a solid foundation upon which to build your opinion of what is going on in this particular part of California.

To get a good grasp of the situation you need to go HERE. The piece is titled: “Home: No place for Bible study.” Drew Zahn wrote it.

It seems a San Diego Pastor and his wife were questioned by officials from the county and told they would be fined if they continued to hold bible study courses in their home. Yep, that’s what I said: “Their H O M E!”

The incident dates back to (the) Good Friday before Easter when a county government employee paid them a visit. According to the couple they were asked a number of questions about the bible study they were conducting. Among them were questions about whether or not there was hymn singing and the verbal expressions: “Amen” and even “Praise the Lord ” spoken aloud.

It seems the county has this permit they refer to as the Major Use Permit, or the MUP. The Pastor’s wife says she was informed that she and her husband MUST have an MUP before they continue to hold those services in their home. Now, a MUP oft-times involves lots of money. Depending upon the activity, they may require a traffic study, and/or an environmental study. Plus, the applicant for a MUP must comply with parking and sidewalk regulations, as well. We’re told that the costs for all this often exceeds ten thousand dollars could exceed that several times.

We have warned a number of times about the complete disregard for the US Constitution and the shredding of it by others. It seems to us, this is a good example of simply ignoring the law of the land and making up law on the fly.

Of most concern, though, is the obvious ignoring of the US Constitution - the First Amendment that makes up the Bill of Rights, no less.

While some may argue that the First Amendment only applies to laws made by the Congress of the United States, the Supreme Court has interpreted it as applying to the executive and judicial branches of the US government, as well. And – during the last century - the Supreme Court held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment applies the limitations of the First Amendment to each state, including any local government within a state.

Now, as if that is not enough, along comes something called the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009. This one is SO bad it prompted A Texas pastor to write an open letter to the US Senate asking ANY Senator to filibuster the bill! The Pastor, Rick Scarborough, pastor of Harvest Point Church in Nacogdoches, Texas, and founder of “Vision America” refers to the recent Congressional actions as a "maddening march to the destruction of our First Amendment right to freely practice our religion."

In the outside event that you don’t know - this bill would provide special protections to homosexual people while leaving Christian ministers open to prosecution – if - their teachings were to be linked to any subsequent offense, by anyone, against a homosexual person.

Now, to understand the import of this bill to a Christian church, one must understand that the Christian faith teaches that homosexuality is a sin, one of the gravest of sins. As the vast majority of Christian churches teaches that the Bible is the “infallible” Word of God or, at the least, the “inspired” Word of God, then a Christian pastor is bound by his/her faith to teach the same and, from time to time, he/she will be “lead” to preach against homosexuality as the sin that he truly believes that it is.

Under this law, as I understand it, a pastor preaching such, from a pulpit, will be liable (would be in violation of the law) and subject to imprisonment, a fine, or whatever the court and the law decree, should one of his parishioners, or simply a listener, go out and commit a “hate crime” against a homosexual, especially if that perpetrator should mention that he did the crime after hearing one of the good pastor’s sermons.

The act has already been approved in the US House of Representatives as HR 1913 and is sitting in the queue and waiting in the Senate as S. 909.

In his letter, Pastor Scarborough says: “The legislation pending before you will make me an 'inducer' to hate crimes if I preach Romans 1:18-32 and someone who hears me then commits a criminal act against a protected class. It is clear that this bill will criminalize biblical preaching and will prevent me and thousands of other clergymen from practicing our faith without threat of penalty from our own federal government." (You REALLY NEED to read Romans 1:18 - 32 in order to understand the Christian church’s take on homosexuality.)

Here is the text of the letter Pastor Scarborough sent to the Senate:

Dear Members of the Senate of the United States,

As a pastor of a local congregation, I humbly request that at least one of you stand up on behalf of all God-fearing Americans and stop this maddening march to the destruction of our First Amendment right to freely practice our religion in America via "hate crimes" legislation including the protection of pedophiles and other aberrant and destructive behaviors. As you are fully aware, the hate crimes bill that recently passed the House and is now before your body will seriously erode that freedom.

Congressman Louie Gohmert repeatedly sounded the alarm that if the version of the bill which passed the House is finally signed into law, the radical left will be fully armed with the power of federal criminal law to silence any dissenting voice that declares homosexuality or other such behaviors sinful and wrong.

I have been preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ since 1969. I have deeply held religious convictions that the Bible is God’s revealed truth about man and humanity, and I hold no animosity toward homosexuals or anyone who disagrees with me. Let’s debate the merits and the facts and allow all sides to air their opinion. But do not silence pastors nor penalize people of faith.

In the Scripture there are clear guidelines regarding marriage, human sexuality, and social order. In the first chapter of Romans there is a clear prohibition against same-sex relations. The legislation pending before you will make me an “inducer” to hate crimes if I preach Romans 1:18-32 and someone who hears me then commits a criminal act against a protected class, including those who choose to live in defiance of God’s revealed truth. It is clear that this bill will criminalize biblical preaching and will prevent me and thousands of other clergymen from practicing our faith without threat of penalty from our own federal government.

A congressman who strongly opposed this legislation in the House recently said to me, “They just don’t get it, Pastor Rick!” I believe that some of you do “get it,” and it is incumbent upon you to stand up for what is right and just and stop this train from arriving at the station.

I have walked the halls of the Senate Office Building, as has others, begging for someone to lead a filibuster of the bill, only to be told repeatedly that it is a lost cause. Frankly, sirs, there are no lost causes except when good men fail to fight a desperate battle for their God and their liberty.

That’s why we are making this appeal to you. On behalf of God and our freedoms we beseech you to take up the torch. In the words of acclaimed actor and World War II hero, Jimmy Stewart, in one of the most memorable movies of the 20th century, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington": “Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.”

Who will step forward and filibuster this wicked legislation? Who will champion Christians, Jews, and even Muslims who will find themselves in jeopardy when this legislation is signed into law? Will you?

When young David approached the field of battle bringing news to his three warrior brothers from his father, and saw Goliath taunting the armies of God, he left his carriage and said, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” When his own brothers rebuked him, he then replied, “Is there not a cause?” That day one courageous follower of the living God showed the world that God could whip a giant and rout an army.

Senators, I plead with you to be our champion, NOW! Surely there is one Senator who believes in the cause of righteousness enough to stand up and do the right thing, whether it’s popular and winnable or not! Is my freedom to practice my religion freely a worthy cause? Is not the First Amendment a righteous cause? Is there not a cause?

You have been honored by your constituents who have elected you to uphold the Constitution.

To answer the question posed in the title to this commentary - yes, I believe, eventually, the Christian Church will be driven underground in America as it has been in other nations around the globe. Otherwise, it will cease to exist in this land many firmly believe was founded by Christians.

As I scribble these few words it could not be any clearer that this bill is a violation of the First Amendment. Will it pass the Congress and be signed into law by the President? Yes, I believe it will. Why? The answer is quite simple: because America is no longer a Christian nation. At least, America’s government no longer governs based on the Judeo-Christian code of laws and beliefs. And very soon now, the Supreme Court of the land will be in the hands of socialists, as well, and that will be the end of the failed experiment called “America” a nation which was to have been governed only by the voice of it’s people and their God.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans urge President Obama to continue the long-standing tradition of sending a wreath to the Confederate Monument in Arlington Cemetery. This tradition began with President Woodrow Wilson in 1914 when he spoke at the dedication of the monument and should be continued, as it is an important part of the civic and memorial life of the nation.

There has recently been a letter circulated urging President Obama to forgo the practice of sending a wreath to the monument in Arlington. Two of the signers of this letter are Bill Ayers and his wife, once members of the radical Weather Underground who have admitted their part in conducting terrorist bombings against the police and government facilities of the United States.


Besides long standing tradition, President Obama should send a wreath to the Confederate Monument at Arlington Cemetery because all Confederate Veterans have the status as American Veterans as well.


Several acts of Congress have defined Veterans of the Confederate States of America as American Veterans due the same benefits and honors as any other American Veteran.

“National Health Insurance” is one of the primary tools used by a government to control her people. That alone is enough for me to be whole-heartedly against it.

Now, lets get something straight… I believe the Health Insurance Companies, in America, deserve what they get. They have been, in my opinion, abusing their subscribers for entirely too long. Rates have risen through the roof at an undeservedly fast pace. Sure medical costs have gone up, but not at the percentages your insurance premiums have gone up. This has to stop. But National Health Care is a cure worse than the disease.
More government in our lives is more than just a little bit scary. Once National Healthcare is implemented, and don’t get me wrong, I believe some form will be, your life will be under the control of the administrators of that insurance.

For Instance, lets say you have an obesity problem. You have developed a heart problem as a result of the obesity. You need treatment for your heart. National Health Care says: “OK, we will not pay for the heart treatment until you lose weight”. Or, they provide all citizens with a chart, approved by the FDA, of the “Approved Foods” all citizens should eat. They make it clear that if you cannot show proof of having ingested those “approved” foods, on a regular basis, also decided by them, you Health Insurance is no good. You will not receive treatment.

Or, another example, you may be allowed to have one child only. It must be a boy. (See China.) If you choose to have another baby, after the approved ONE, the costs will come out of your pocket. Get the picture?

Now, this does not take into account the reduced quality of care we will receive from the medical community. Their hearts will not be it. After 8 years. or so, in school, to learn their profession and they will become “salaried government employees”. Need I say more?

The left is hell-bent on imposing such a system on the citizens of this country.
National Health Care is a Socialist dream. It is also a Conservative’s worst nightmare.

We must be on our guard, for some form of National Health Care is about to raise its ugly head in the Nation’s legislature. Our socialist Congress, in ka-hoots with our socialist president, are workimg hand in hand in the shadows, behind the scenes in Washington, DC, to yoke the citizens of this country to the slavery of universal healthcare. It is time for conservatives to exercise their power and stop it in its tracks as we did the “Clinton Care” attempt in the ‘90s.

Israel, like all democratic countries, and formerly democratic countries (such as the United Socialist States of America), have liberals and a coterie of the not-so-bright members of elite academics and members of their press corp. That is a given. It is a given we mightily disagree with, but, hey, for some things we just have to swallow hard and move on.

I make an effort to stay up with current news events in Israel on a daily basis. I'm from the old school where the scholars believed that Israel is the linchpin of humanity on this earth and by keeping a close eye on Israel one can see the future in the making.

It also gives me ulcers. Israel, you see, has a goodly number of left-wing journalists just as we do in the states. The Israeli leftists want the same thing the American leftists want. That is socialist domination of their country and the world. One of the things that really grinds on me is the Israeli leftist's continual promotion of our President, Mr. Obama --- and their continual tearing down of their own Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. (Granted: I do the same thing here --- only I do it in reverse!)If such things were possible, I would gladly swap our Mr. Obama for their Mr. Netanyahu, in a heartbeat, and never look back! As a mater of fact, I expect about 47%, or so, of the American electorate would be happy with that trade!

The left-leaning press in Israel continues to tell their readers how Obama is going to force Netanyahu to do thus and so. Ain't gonna happen! Oh, don’t misunderstand, now. Obama will try to T E L L Netanyahu what he W I L L do and what he W I L L N O T do, but it will go into one of Mr. Netanyahu's ears and out the other. See, Bibi has a mind of his own and he tends to think for himself. Sometimes it brings him grief, but, hey, he is his own man. Nobody owns him --- not even Obama.

Recently Netanyahu went to Washington to speak with Obama. We were assured by the leftist press that Obama would read him the riot act and Netanyahu would relent and fall in line behind Obama's Two-State Policy which features a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

Didn't happen!

Us dumb ole conservative writers told you it would not happen weeks before the event. But, dear reader, you must understand that if a scribe, such as myself, has "conservative" by his or her name, it automatically means we are dumb, inbred, hicks from the backwoods of the American wilderness. Why is that, do you suppose? You see, we frighten the leftists so much they live in constant fear of our penchant for being able to almost instantly form an opinion and then defend our stand in the face of all comers. Seldom do we wring our hands and worry for days on end about the nuance of the words we have just spoken or written.

The left is in awe of our insight into world events, including the current events here in our own country. We make them look so bad, they make every effort to keep us under wraps and to stifle us at every opportunity. They will censor any news of events of a conservative nature they fear might have some effect upon the American electorate. Allow me to give you just one example: "The Great American Tea Party,” held just a few days ago all across America: Did you know the collective crowds were estimated at over one million Americans gathered at the many gathering points, from sea to shining sea, (As planned) to protest the continued raising of taxes on American citizens in order to redistribute the nation’s wealth, and the government's blatant ignoring of the Constitution. Did you see anything in the papers about it? Did you hear or see anything on the TV about it? When you DID manage to find a story the press had reluctantly produced about it, were you surprised to see the leftist slant to the reporting and the nearly inaudible snickering from the elitist newspersons covering the report? You can bet that had the US Supreme Court been considering a case on Roe vs Wade and there had been just three persons carrying poster board signs, in support of Roe -v- Wade, outside the Supreme court building, you would not have been able to walk those sidewalks for the hundreds of newspersons, cameras, microphones, microwave dishes, and mobile control rooms (in multicolored vans) parked everywhere forcing you to tip-toe through the cables strew everywhere as if a 2-year- old had been playing with his spaghetti supper.

But, how dare I? Don’t I KNOW there is absolutely no left-leaning bias in the press? Well, DUH!

Now a note to our Israeli friends: You have finally got a Prime Minister who is ready, willing, and able to save the country so many of you have bled and died to preserve. Let him do his job! Right now, at this point in history, Netanyahu's job is to save Israel from Iran. If that require bombing Iran back to the stone age, then get behind Netanyahu and help him do it. It is the only way your country, Israel, will be saved. The socialists running America these days are far more concerned for the welfare of the Arabs and Muslims than they are for Israel. You are, for all intents and purposes, on your own. It is going to be up to Bibi Netanyahu to stop Iran. He can do it, but, it seems to me, an admitted outsider, that you have a responsibility to help defend your nation --- and it also seems to me, you can best do that by supporting your Prime Minister's efforts at this particular time in history.

Forget Obama! In four years, eight years, tops, he will be gone from the political stage and we conservatives, with God's help, will have gotten our act together and will have earned an opportunity to salvage whatever is left of the once great America and re-establish her as a world power once again.

As you can plainly see, under Obama's guidance America is slipping from the pinnacle of power, with each passing day, and will continue to do so until the American people say “enough” and purge our political house of all the socialists in our government.

As I look at Washington today I am forced to admit that Joe McCarthy was right, only too early, with his charges of communists in the American government. To our friends in Israel we say, don't allow your nation to be taken from you as we Americans did just last year. America has gone from a democratic state to a socialist state almost overnight. On the surface, the promises socialism makes are beguiling --- especially to the ignorant among us and to those of lesser intelligence, as well as to the lazy and, shall we say --- non-motivated. It is also appealing to those who are ready, willing, and able to use their guile in the service of greed and power to wring anything and everything of value from those who willingly fall into step behind the leader of a socialist movement. That is what is happening everyday here in America these days.

As a loyal America, who has great feelings for the state of Israel, I plead with you to not take your direction from the Obama Administration. I strongly suggest that you, as a free people, insist that your government make it's own decisions based on what is right for Israel --- and Israel alone.

In this scribe’s opinion, reports from America’s legendary auto making region describe the cars the Feds are going to force the new “government motor companies” to build as little more than “death traps.” Once you consider their small size, light weight, and cramped seating spaces to accommodate passengers you may arrive at the same conclusion.

Small passenger compartments with three rows of seats and little or no trunk space, and tiny little engines that run on about as much power as a one hundred watt light bulb will soon be the standard for all automobiles built in America. What a pathetic excuse for an automobile! I’d be ashamed to even be seen riding in one. My peers would think I had better sense than to climb into something so dangerous. Think I’m kidding? Then go HERE.

I intend to keep my pickup truck until the wheels fall off --- then I plan to secure new wheels or, failing that, have some made! Point is --- I will not, willingly, give up my strong, powerful, and safe truck for one of those “pregnant roller skates” the government intends to force Americans to drive. There is something completely un-American about a tiny little piss ant car, anyway.

I’m from the generation who took old cars from the 1920’s and 1930’s and rebuilt them into hotrods and street rods and drag racers which, off-times, were engineered better than the original car was when it rolled off the assembly lines. Mine was the generation that designed and built the so-called “muscle cars.” (And what beauties they were, too!) They remain engineering phenomena, even today. (If you want to see a new car that comes close to imitating our muscle cars go to your nearest Dodge dealer and take a look at the new “Challenger” with the “Hemi” engine.)

In a few years America’s highways will resemble the roadways of Cuba. In Cuba there are a slew of American cars from the 1950’s still running strong because the Cubans learned how to make replacement parts they could no longer obtain because of the boycotts and embargo(es) on all things American. You are going to see Americans driving cars that are 20 - 25 years old. Driving those cars will be people, like me, who refuse to submit themselves to the obvious danger to their lives and limbs presented by those government motors’ “beer cans on wheels.”

Look, we’re are talking about an automobile a couple of men, with their bare hands, could all but destroy in short order. Think back to the last so-called fuel shortage when some American auto companies made those fuel-efficient cars. Remember the small, boxy little things? It was fairly easy for a grown man to cave in the quarter panel of one of those cars with his bare fist. If you put your whole body weight, of say 200 hundred pounds, behind it --- you could, fairly easily, smash in a fender --- and a door pane --- and the roof.

One police department near me bought a few of them for service within the city limits and when they tried to mount the blue lights and sirens on the roof of those cars --- the roof caved in and they had to be taken back to the dealership and have reinforcement bars welded onto the roof, behind the headliner, just to keep the roof from caving-in from the weight of a set of blue lights and siren which were easily picked up and carried about by one man. An officer told of an incident in which he had to break off a chase, at 80 mph; because the car was so light he could not control it on the highway.

There is an excellent article at Forbes.com you really need to read. It is titled: “Why Small Cars Won’t Keep You Safe.” Hannah Elliot writes it and you will find it HERE. We learn in this article of a report released recently by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) which says that even with airbags, electronic stability control and strong front-crash ratings--small cars are much more dangerous in head-on crashes than larger vehicles. Death rates in minicars involved in multi-car crashes are nearly twice as high as those in large sedans.

I’m just an ole country boy without a single PHD to hang onto my moniker, but as mentally slow as I am, I could have told them that without even a single hesitation. I mean, in a crash between a grocery store shopping cart and an Abrams Tank, which had you rather be in, the shopping cart or the tank? See what I mean?

In 2009 making a fuel-efficient car means making a smaller, lighter, car. We simply don’t have the technology to do anything else… yet. Smaller, lighter cars are not as safe in a car crash as larger, heavier, cars.

Let us say you are driving or are a passenger in one of those rolling coffins, what do you think your chances would be in a rollover crash? How about a “head-on” collision? Have you stopped shaking yet?

As a former police officer and a former rescue man, I have picked up auto crash victims in situations where I had to make multiple trips to the pile of mangled metal to recover all of the same body! Let me tell you --- it is sickening.

This is where we are headed with the government’s fuel-efficient automobiles. Once those things hit the roads and the ad agencies do their jobs selling them to the public, people will decide they MUST buy them. Then we can just stand back and watch the body count go up and up, because, assuredly, it will. It did the last time we did this. The history is there for you to see. But, unfortunately, this is what you get with a nanny government run by socialists.

America is about to learn another of the hard lessons of socialism --- under socialism we all suffer equally.

Among the latest news out of Mexico was the discovery of four U.S. citizens found in a van, strangled, beaten and stabbed in the border city of Tijuana. The victims, ages 19 to 21, were two men and two women from San Diego and Chula Vista areas.

In 2008, 6,292 Mexicans were killed in the drug wars between the drug cartels. In the first eight weeks of 2009, there were already a thousand casualties, some of them beheaded. By way of comparison, in six years of war in Iraq, this exceeds U.S. losses by more than three thousand.

In mid-March, however, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, third in the line of succession to lead the nation, told a crowd of legal and illegal Hispanics that enforcement of federal or even local laws regarding immigration is “un-American.” She called the illegal aliens in the audience, “very, very patriotic.”

No, Madame Speaker, the patriotic, indeed the constitutionally responsible thing to do is to enforce the laws of the nation. You even took an oath of office to do so.

It is an open secret in Washington, D.C., that Obama and his fellow Democrat travelers in Congress want to push through an amnesty in order to increase the number of voters likely to support Democrats in coming elections. Congress has a short memory and no doubt has conveniently forgotten the firestorm of protest that erupted when the Bush administration attempted the same thing.

President Obama’s proposed budget cancels plans to extend the border fence along the U.S.-Mexican border beyond the 670 miles already completed or planned. That leaves 1,277 miles open. In addition, the budget would end payments to states and communities to cover the cost of jailing illegal immigrants.

Sooner or later, some innocent American bystanders in downtown Tucson or any other American city are going to get caught in a hail of bullets as Mexican narco gangs exchange fire in a territorial dispute. Then Americans will demand action. You may recall that was the feeling right after 9/11 in 2001.

When I say “territorial dispute” I am referring to the network of American cities in which these gangs are currently operating. In April 2008, the Justice Department reported that Mexican drug cartels represent “the largest threat to both citizens and law enforcement agencies in this country and now have gang members in nearly 200 U.S. cities.”

Obama’s response to this was a promise to reduce gun sales that end up across the border and I believe him because we are already witnessing efforts to take away everyone’s guns. While calling for tougher border security, Obama so far is doing nothing beyond the management of a U.S.-Mexico agreement forged during the Bush administration.

Meanwhile, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is saying stupid things to blame America for the chaos of Mexico, claiming that American “is at least as responsible as Mexico for the violent drug wars…” No, we are not responsible for Mexico’s endemic corruption and its failure to crack down on the drug cartels many years ago.

Forgive me if I have little confidence in any real action being taken by Obama’s new director of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. When she was Governor of Arizona, she called out the National Guard to back up the Border Patrol, but essentially had them man desks. It was a serious waste of man power by all accounts. Currently she is calling for more motion sensors and aerial surveillance to spot those entering the nation illegally. That’s just a bad joke.

If the U.S. wants to avoid an all-out border war with the narco cartels, it needs to put up one very high fence along the 1,947 miles we share.

I have even less confidence in the Mexican government to deal with the narco gangs. It isn’t like they’re not trying. Meeting with George Bush in 2007, the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, asked for help to fight the gangs and to his credit, he has been making a serious effort, deploying thousands of police and military, but at a terrific cost to their lives. It is, in the very truest sense of the word, a war.

Mexico’s drug war is closing in on becoming Obama’s “Iraq”; a war not so much of choice as one that is integral to our national security.

This is not an exaggeration. In December, Four-Star general (ret.) Barry McCaffrey and former national drug czar said that Mexico is on the verge of becoming a narco-state. An Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at West Point, McCaffrey released a report that predicted Mexico will be in control of the narco gangs within a decade. “Chronic drug consumption in Mexico has doubled since 2002 as has cocaine use, while U.S. cocaine consumption has dropped by 70% in the past two decades. An estimated 5% of the Mexican population now consumes illegal drugs.”

Fully 90% of all U.S. cocaine use transits through Mexico and it is also a dominant source of methamphetamine production for the U.S. market.

All this is occurring while Speaker Pelosi is encouraging illegal immigration and denouncing enforcement of our laws to prevent it.

All this is occurring as the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has released a report that border gangs were becoming increasingly ruthless, targeting rivals, along with federal, state and local police. Citing a dramatic rise in border violence over the past three years, it called it “an unprecedented surge.”

“Good fences make good neighbors” says the famous Robert Frost poem, Mending Wall, but a vastly increased border patrol and other steps are needed now to ensure the safety of Americans everywhere within the nation. It must be coupled with a renewed and vigorous effort to thwart the influx and to encourage as many of the estimated twelve million illegals living among us to return home.

The story continues to bubble just below the surface of the consciousness of the American electorate primarily because the Mainstream Media is so deep in the tank for Obama that they refuse to cover it. But it is there, nevertheless, and eventually it is going to break through and chances are very good that it will create chaos when it does.

The question of whether or not Obama is legally qualified to even be President of the US has never been answered. Many lawsuits have been filed in an attempt to answer the question. Many have been dismissed, for one reason or the other, but many are still in the queue waiting for a ruling and eventually that ruling will come.

The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

The question that really troubles many of us is why the President doesn’t just present the evidence that he is a natural born American citizen and put it all to rest? It seems so simple. Yet, reports have it that the President has legal teams, all over the country, fighting all attempts by citizens to get to the bottom of what could turn out to be a constitutional crisis for the country. Some reports say that huge sums of money have been spent, already, just to stop the release of that birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. Why not release that certificate and put this whole thing to rest?

Obama’s reluctance to produce proof of his American citizenship certainly leads one to question a lot of things about the President. For instance: What is his real name? Was his father an African, an Arab, or a Muslim? (Find more on this
HERE.)

See, the problem here, over and above the obvious, is… this may happen again. We need to have laws that clearly describe what it means to be a natural born citizen of the US and laws that clearly delineate the steps one MUST go through in order to prove one’s eligibility to be President of the US.

Unknown to a great many Americans is the fact there is just such a movement in Congress that would require presidential candidates to verify their eligibility to hold the highest elected office in the United States --- not to mention the office of Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the US. Congressman Bill Posey, a Republican of Florida, filed the bill --- HR 1503 --- an amendment to the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971. H.R. 1503 would "require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution." Last week, Congressman Bob Goodlatte, a Republican of Virginia, signed onto the bill. You can read the story on this HERE. The bill was referred to the US House of Representatives’ “Committee on House Administration,” where it remains. I would urge my congressman to get behind this bill and get it passed.

As we mentioned above there are numerous lawsuits still pending on this issue. At least one of those suits asked the question of whether or not the President was, indeed, born in the state of Hawaii, as he insists, or rather some place outside the United States. If it turns out he was born outside the US, Obama's American mother, would have been too young (at the time of his birth) to confer American citizenship on her son under the law at the time. (Confusing enough for you?) Still other lawsuits are looking at the possibility of conferring citizenship through Obama’s father, a Kenyan, and a British subject. That would confer dual citizenship on Obama, and, constitutional experts say the constitution does not allow anyone holding dual citizenship to be eligible to stand as a candidate for President of the United States.

There is no need for this confusion. Obama can clear the air, once and for all, by producing proof of HIS birth within the United States, in particular, the state of Hawaii. The Congress can stop this from ever happening again by passing HR 1503 and tacking it onto the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 as an amendment.

Do I think it will happen? No, I do not. Why? That’s simple enough to answer. It won’t happen because those same groups of people who form the infamous “Shadow Government” do not want it to happen.

Like many Americans, I thought the “Shadow Government” was only a creation of the conspiracy nuts. But, such stunts as this have certainly pushed me much closer to believing in the existence of a group of powerful, wealthy, families who pull the strings of governments all over the globe for their mutual benefit. Their supreme goal is Global Governance… or as we used to say: “One World Government.” The current President of the United States is a Global Governance adherent. That fact makes him one of them and, as such, his continued occupancy of the Oval Office must be assured.

So the big push has begun! The big push for socialized medicine in the United States. Altho, there is little funny about this boondoggle, it is sorta funny to watch the socialists in the US government, including the Obama Administration, tie themselves into knots to avoid using the words “socialized” and “medicine” in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence. Nevertheless, that is exactly what they are proposing… socialized medicine. And again, I expect ignorance to overcome logic and sound reasoning as the government shoves socialized medicine down the throats of American citizens and, in so doing, bring about the collapse of the best healthcare system in the world.

If you are one of those who actually think they are doing this because they care about you, you really need to see a shrink about your mental health, I mean your “delusions.”

America is about to experience something we have never had before in our history. Rationing of healthcare. There is simply no escaping it. Costs of healthcare will have to be brought to heel by the Obama administration and there is only one way to do that… and that is to ration it. In other words you will be placed on a waiting list and your ailment will be treated whenever they get to you, in a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or a couple of years, or maybe never. If you don’t get the care you require and you die, so much the better. That is the other way of bringing healthcare costs down.”

My wife had surgery a few days ago. The surgery was performed by a robot. Yep! A well-qualified doctor was supervising the robot, of course, but the robot did the work. The machine, we were told, costs 2 million bucks per copy. I pleaded with my wife, in the few minutes we had before she was whisked away to the operating room, to take extreme care, and for goodness sake, do not damage or break that 2 million dollar robot.

The machine is so complicated it sometimes takes hours to set it up between procedures and, as a result, it can only perform two surgeries a day.

It took only a few days, less than a week, to have the paperwork, blood work, radiological workup, and the surgery performed and return home, in my wife’s case. I was left sitting in one of those uncomfortable chairs in an ultra-modern waiting room, surrounded with huge TVs with drive-in movie size screens and stereo sound, plus a progress board, all lit up, and hanging on a wall, showing the progress of your patient in the surgical process as the hours dragged by. Those of us waiting had the option of relaxing in an area of the “pavilion” where hot coffee and snacks were offered. We were given a “beeper and every hour or so, the beeper would go off and someone from the surgical team would come out and bring us up to date on where, exactly, our patient was in the process and how, generally, the patient was tolerating the supreme invasion of a knife, even a knife wielded by a robot.

The kind of “express’ healthcare we experienced and described above, will be a thing of the past if Obama and the Democratic Socialist Party gets their way and they create and install a government run healthcare system. Of course, they are going to deny that and tell you that folks like me, who actually tell you the truth about such things, are “full of it” and don’t know what we are talking about. The sad thing about all of this is that by the time you find out that those of us warning against a government system are, in fact, telling you the truth, it will be too late and healthcare in the US will be scraping the bottom of the barrel like so many other socialized medicine programs around the globe. In other words it will be too cussed late to do anything about it!

One other thing: Do not feel secure, if, like me, you have your own private health Insurance, Why? Because the government run plan will run the private plans out of business. The private plans will not be government subsidized. The government plan(s) will. How can the private plans even be expected to compete against the government plans when the deck is so stacked against them? The simple answer is… they can’t. Soon you and I, with our private health care plans, will eventually wind up on the government health dole --- whether we want to or not --- and that’s the ultimate plan!
In an article titled: “Obama's 'Public' Health Plan Will Bankrupt the Nation” Lawrence Kudlow says: “And does anybody believe Obama's new "public" health-insurance plan isn't really a bridge to single-payer government-run health care? And does anyone think this plan won't produce a government gatekeeper that will allocate health services and control prices and therefore crowd-out the private-insurance doctor-hospital system?
Federal boards are going to decide what's good for you and me. And what's not good for you and me. These boards will drive a wedge between doctors and patients.” Kudlow goes on to say:”…. the Obama Democrats are determined to force through a state-run system that will bankrupt the country.” Read the entire article HERE.

Currently, there are four plans under consideration. One would simply expand Medicare. It would be a fully government run program and would not have to remain solvent to remain in business. The second would be set-up by the government and be required to remain solvent while establishing their own networks and payment schemes. Then there is the plan to have each state create it’s own state insurance following government guidelines. And the one with the least chance of making it out of committee is to have no government plan at all --- and instead --- clean up the current private insurance programs and police them better than they have in the past.

If all this sounds like a mess, believe me when I tell you that it IS a mess!

Look, you get nothing for free. Everything has a price, a cost. The cost may be hidden, but, believe me, it is there. The price of socialized medicine in America will be so unbelievably high if will be impossible to hide. The government will have to choose between continuing to raise taxes to pay for it, or reduce the amount of healthcare available to the patients.

There is always the threat of a tax revolt in America if the government continues to raise taxes. Many believe the tax revolt has already begun with the American Tea Parties. The first round if those tea parties saw an estimated one million Americans meeting, all across America, to protest taxes already levied by the government on her citizens. Another wave of Tea Parties are expected on July Fourth, the birthday of the nation, and many in the Republican Party now suspect the American Tea Parties are simply the birth of a third political party in America.

The GOP is between a rock and a hard place here. If they do not put up an extremely good fight against Socialized Medicine in America, there is good reason to believe there will be a mass migration of conservatives from the GOP and into other conservative political parties. The American Tea Party will be perfectly positioned to welcome those migrants into their conservative party.

The Democrat Socialist Party would be well advised to tread lightly on socialized medicine. It could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for them.

The heavy assault has begun on Veterans'/Retirees' benefits to pay for other programs.. The word on the street is that these indeed are a high priority of the Obama administration. The one most of interest to Retired Military is in Article 189. If approved by Congress the first assault wave would hit the beaches in 2011 and would hit hard. It would initiate cost sharing to require retirees to pay the first $525 of medical cost and 50% of the next $4,725 for a first year cost of $2,888 per person. It would be indexed to increase with inflation. A reason given for this action (for PR effect) is "overuse" by Retirees.

Wake Up America movement has already been receiving reports of veterans whose claims are already being refused now!

Furthermore page 189 of the Congressional Budget Office report recommends that the TRICARE for Life (TFL) program eventually be eliminated completely.

There seems little doubt these days that the Democrat Socialist Party is going to kick through a national form of socialized medicine in America --- and soon. If we conservatives, we Americans who want to rescue America from the socialists, don’t find a way to stop it (in the Congress) it WILL be a done deal within, I suspect, three months!

We have already beaten back one attempt. That was by Mrs. Bill Clinton. That attempt at Socialized Medicine in America would have destroyed heathcare in the US. That was back when her husband, “The Boy President,” was occupying the Oval Office. The only thing changed since then is the Democrat Party has moved solidly into the socialist realm of political philosophy and dropped anchor there.

Hillarycare 1.0 was defeated, overwhelmingly, on the first attempt. It was a ponderous mess. So, THIS time, they intend to take a different approach… and it has already begun. Insuring the children is one of the incremental steps in saddling the nation with a single-payer form of socialized healthcare. (It’s “for the children,” don’t you know. The oldest slight of hand trick in the book STILL works on guilt ridden liberal Americans!)

Early on, we were informed that the next attempt would most likely be patterned after the Canadian nationalized healthcare system. Oh, GREAT! All indicators tell us these days that the Canadian system is about to crash of it’s own weight! That can’t be good!

Ok, so how does the Canadian healthcare system stack up against US healthcare these days, anyway? Where better to get a comparison than from a declared liberal site. So we dropped by the site “Classically Liberal” at: HERE.

We found some interesting stuff. The piece is entitled: Does Canadian health care really stack up so well? We recommend you visit the site and read it in its entirety.

Here’s a snippet from the article:

“Considering that one of the alleged virtues of Canada’s health system is the “equality” factor it is interesting to see that more individuals in the US, with specific conditions, are receiving treatment than do their counterparts in Canada. The report also found that the poor in the United States reported as much, or more health care, than those in Canada did.This report also noted that waiting time in Canada for care is significantly longer than in the United States. The absence of care, they contend, is more problematic than the ability to pay for the care. As they note “costs may be more easily overcome than the absence of services.” That is, it is easier to find a way to pay for care that is available than to make the care available when it doesn’t exist.And, when patients in both countries are asked to rate their satisfaction with the care they receive, the typical American, in spite of a reputation for complaining, was happier than the typical Canadian.”

Well, now… THIS certainly is different than the info we are used to being spoon-fed by our MSM here in the States, huh?

Here’s another snippet:

“Americans have a slightly higher incidence of chronic health problems than Canadians, but they also have higher treatment rates.The discrepancies between income and health care received has not disappeared in Canada and is actually steeper than in the United States.More Americans report satisfactory health care than do Canadians.”

And then there is this….. “in light of the inability of the Canadian system to provide the care it promised the nation’s Supreme Court ruled that bans on private medical care were unconstitutional and inhumane.” What does this mean? It means that PRIVATE Health care is now LEGAL in Canada and Canadians are flocking to the private clinics… and the Government Healthcare system of Canada is even sending patients to the PRIVATE CLINICS for treatment they cannot supply their patients!

… And this is the system the dems want to saddle the US with? WHY? Because it is another step in their plan to lock America into the Welfare State mentality
They have already established socialism as the dominanat form of government in the US! (Yep, Capitalism is gone, Socilaism is IN!) Now, they need to get every American on the dole. Socialized Medicine will do just that!

I have said a number of times, in the past, that the election Of Obama was a victory for ignorance in America. I don’t know why I think I can change the minds of Americans who voted for the man, knowing he was, and is, a socialist. Intellectually, I know I cannot be successful, yet I feel, as an American, I must try to help save what little is left of the America our forefathers gave us. ( I think it must be a generational thing.) In the circles within which I travel the folks I find who admit to having voted for Obama are the uneducated/undereducated, the young and inexperienced, the minority welfare class, and the well eductated who hope to gain by being a part of the political party which has dominance over the other groups mentioned in the first part of this sentence. These people now rule America. All you have to do to see a recipe for disaster is step back and take a look at who these people are. All your questions as to how America became a socialist country are answered in this single paragraph.

Back to Socilaized Medicine: There is NO SUCH THING AS FREE HEALTHCARE! SOMEBODY IS GOING TO PAY! Who pays? You and I will pay… in taxes. If you think healthcare is expensive now… just wait ‘til it’s free!

Get a GRIP, America! There is NO FREE LUNCH! There never has been! If you want it… you must be prepared to pay for it. We pay for Socialized Medicine in America by trading our freedom for it.

Socialized medicine is not about healthcare. It’s about power and control of a nation’s citizens. Consider the source! The folks of the Democrat Socialist Party are past masters at the old “Bait and Switch” game! If Americans are dumb enough to bite the bait they dangle, Americans are going to feel the pain when they set the hook! First you swallow the bait… then they snatch the line and set the hook --- and they’ve caught an entire nation! And THAT, boys and girls, is how America became a SOCIALIST NATION!

There are few nations on Earth other than Israel with a greater claim to exist as a homeland for a specific people. Along with China and India, Israel reaches back thousands of years, predating both Christianity and Islam.

For some 3,500 years, Jews have lived in Israel. In good times and bad, Jews have always identified themselves with Israel even when, as a Diaspora, they spread for their survival to many other nations. The re-establishment of Israel on May 14, 1948 led to two immediate events. Within eleven minutes after the announcement, President Harry S. Truman recognized the new nation. Within hours, the Arab League declared war.

With only six hundred thousand Jewish residents at the time, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq joined together to destroy Israel. They failed. They tried again in 1967. They failed. They tried in 1973, attacking on one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur. They failed.

Following the 1967 war, eight Arab nations gathered in Khartoum and issued their “Three No’s.” No peace with Israel. No recognition of Israel. No negotiations with Israel.
In time, Egypt would sign a peace treaty; though not abandon its animus. Jordan would make its accommodations. The others remained hostile.

To understand Israel’s situation, it is necessary to understand that (1) Jews had lived there since the days of Moses, (2) the early Zionist movement members that moved there purchased land on which to farm and live, (3) the land which was captured in successive wars had always been part of Israel, and (4) both the United Kingdom and the U.S., for their own reasons, have not been honest brokers, particularly so far as their demand that Israel negotiate with people who never had any intention to negotiate peace.

The Israelis did not steal their own land, nor are they illegitimate “occupiers” of their land regained as the result of having been attacked. What they gained in wars against them historically was always theirs and had been denied to them by the Arab nations that claimed them.

Israel has never known a day of true peace in just over sixty years of its modern existence. In his latest book, “The Late Great State of Israel”, Aaron Klein spells out why Israel is closer to destruction than anyone might imagine except for its implacable enemies.

I want Israel to exist and to thrive, but I find it unsurprising that a totally Muslim region, the Middle East and throughout the Maghreb, the Islamic northern nations of Africa, would see Israel through their xenophobic lens as in invasion by the West; by European Jews who began settling there in the early 1900s, by the Jewish survivors of the Holocaust, by the host of Russian Jews granted permission to leave the former Soviet Union, and even the many Jews who felt compelled to flee Arab nations following Israel’s founding.

While Jews had always lived in Israel, the Arabs who lived there prior to its establishment identified themselves loosely as citizens of pre-World War One Syria. The land had known many conquerors, dating back to the Romans who renamed the nation Palestine in a vain effort to remove its Jewish history. Muslims fought many wars, including the Crusades, to extend and maintain their control over Jerusalem Their utter scorn and contempt for Israel and the Jews is found in the Koran and infuses Islam as does its core belief that all religions must bow down to Allah.

Christians know the fall of the Jewish state to present-day Muslim invaders would mark the end of any opportunity to visit the birthplace and ministry of Jesus and would be taken as a sign that Christianity was vulnerable wherever it is practiced. In many towns and cities of Israel where Christians had lived for centuries, they have been forced to flee before the hostility of Muslim “neighbors.”

Herein is the warning that Klein issues in his book. Those who would destroy Israel are not just external, they include (1) the Arab nations surrounding it and the so-called Palestinian “refugees” laying claim to it, (2) the United Nations that has supported the Palestinians since 1950 along with its endless resolutions singling out Israel as racists, and (3) even the largely unreported aid that the U.S. has given to Fatah, the alleged Palestinian Authority with whom Israel is supposed to negotiate peace.

Other than (4) Iran that has openly threatened to “wipe Israel off the map”, the latest threat is (5) the Obama administration that is demanding a two-state accommodation with the Palestinians that they have always refused to accept because their goal is Israel’s destruction.

To put the U.S. demands that Israel stop building settlements in the disputed West Bank and other areas, consider that, according to the World Almanac, Israel is comprised of 7,849 square miles. By comparison, New Jersey is 8,721 square miles. Imagine, then, if the federal government insisted that New Jersey cede Delaware all the area from Atlantic City to the Delaware border?

Internally, from its founding, Israel has been divided between its socialist and largely secular Jews, the men and women who took up Zionism as an answer to the bigotry Jews faced in Europe pre-dating the Holocaust, and the religious Jewish community who see Israel is the fulfillment of the Torah prophesy and as the center of world Judaism. This latter group has always felt the scorn of Israel’s secular Jewish government.

Without delving into the complexities of Israeli politics, Klein makes a strong case that Israelis in recent times have been ill-served by the secular Likud and former PM Ariel Sharon’s Kadima parties. The withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the 2006 short war led by Hezbollah shattered the image of Israel’s impregnable and powerful military capabilities.

Israel’s forced removal from Gaza of its longtime Jewish residents, its abandonment to the Palestinians, and the recent military action against Hamas simply demonstrates that the Palestinians have figured out a way to demoralize Israelis with constant rocket attacks. Giving Gaza to the Palestinians merely created a new staging area for attacks.

Klein documents how several U.S. administrations have provided weapons and financial aid (through the United Nations) to Fatah. Fatah and now Hamas have used both to kill Israelis and yet successive Israeli government has participated in this lethal charade.

For now I will take some small comfort that Benjamin Netanyahu is once again Israel’s Prime Minister, but unless Israel is prepared to assert its right to its ancient and re-conquered land;

Unless it destroys the Iranian nuclear facilities for an America too weak or unwilling to address this necessity;

Unless it refuses the wrongful demands to turn over Jerusalem, its holiest sites, and other Jewish cities to their control;

Israel’s future may disappear in a nuclear cloud. There has been one Holocaust in my lifetime. I do not want to witness another.

At stake is more than Israel’s right to exist. The failure to support and protect Israel puts the entire basis and future of Western civilization at risk.

The answer to the question in the title of this piece is, of course, Yes, Obama will end the military’s don’t ask, don’t tell policy. The Obama administration is holding "preliminary discussions" about changing the military's prohibition against openly gay service members, national security adviser James Jones is reported to have said recently.

What more is there to say about this? Neither side in the dispute is going to suddenly change their minds. Obama can put his decision off as long as he likes and there will STILL be a firestorm when he decides to throw the doors of the US Military wide to allow homosexuals to serve openly in the Armed Forces of the United States.

I fully expect my side to lose. I am of the opinion there should be a policy of zero tolerance for homosexuality in the US Military. So, you know I do not agree with the current “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

The US military has had, in place the “Don ‘t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy for homosexuals in the military in place since 1993. Under the terms of that policy homosexuals could serve in the US military as long as they kept quiet about their sexual orientation and didn’t go public with it, by admitting it, or openly taking part in homosexual activity. If either occurred, homosexuals were shown the door and bade farewell from the US Military.

When I served in the US Military, a homosexual was not allowed in the service, period. If they did manage to get in, as soon as they were found out, they were gone. And it was quick.

I remember one July in the 1950’s, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, as I stood in formation on Tank Hill. We recruits were instructed to immediately turn-in any in our ranks we suspected might be homosexual. We were led to believe that if we knew, and did not turn them in, we were in danger of being kicked out of the service as well.

I liked that. It gave me a certain confidence in my fellow soldiers… that they were who they said they were.

In my time in the US Army there was no such thing as privacy. You did everything as a unit. You slept in the same room, you showered together, you ate together, and you even relived yourself in full view of all the other soldiers who happened to be in the latrine at the same time. Did I mention there was no privacy? I did, didn’t I?

It was important that a soldier knew his fellow soldier was the same gender as he was.

Look, having a known homosexual in a military unit disrupts that unit’s cohesiveness. If it happens to be a combat unit, lives are at stake.

So why is this coming up now? The answer is simple. The most liberal senator in the US Senate won the last presidential election and became the President of the US. Add to that the increase in numbers in the Congress of ultra-liberal democrats cinching their control over the two branches of the government and with a Supreme Court that is almost as liberal as it is conservative… and you have to ask??? They intend to strike while the iron is hot. There is no reason to believe they will fail in striking down any and all laws that might keep homosexuals out of the US military. “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is doomed. Bet on it!

So - why not have a compromise? Why not allow those Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen, whose religious faith bars them from association with known homosexuals, to apply for, and receive, an honorable discharge from the U.S. Military Services? At least show some respect for a soldier’s faith.

Of COURSE, it won’t happen. Because that is a part of the plan… to force the American people, even against their religious belief, to accept a way of life their faith teaches is an “abomination.” We have come to expect this heavy-handed approach to religion from the left in America.

And then there is the recruitment problem, sure to come, as a result of this “social engineering” experiment by the left. Reenlistments are going to drop off and new recruits will be few and far between. Which means… what else? The military draft will return.

So…get used to it. A liberal/progressive/socialist/Marxist take over of the US government is in the offing. We “old fogies”, who believe in freedom, had a pretty good run, but we are no longer wanted and the Eurocrats and Neocomms (New Commies) are set to take over and roll back the freedom(s) we worked so hard to preserve for 233 years. The destruction of the hated US Military is just one of their goals. And that is why the issue has resurfaced at this particular time.

It is depressing to watch a nation commit suicide. To watch the world’s only superpower do so is gut-wrenching. But like it or not, we are witnessing the destruction of a way of life, envied the world over, as the Socialist, the Euro-crats, and Neo-comms tear down the last best hope of mankind on this planet.

Any person lucky enough to be elected President of the United States during this current generation of Americans IS lucky, indeed! Why?

Because this current crop of Americans must be, no, has to be, the dumbest bunch of Americans ever to pollute the face of the earth! The current president can lead, (and has been leading) Americans around as if the American electorate was a bull with a ring in it’s nose.

The Obama Administration, with the assistance of a sycophant Congress, has cleaned the treasury out for this generation of American and the next and, yes, even the next.

Less than intelligent Americans have been hit with one crisis after another, real or imagined, and then gushed their gratitude to Obama when he “fixes” the crises he, or his administration, created. For instance - I am STILL not satisfied that the financial crisis did not happen, right on cue, in September of 2008. We said then it was the “October Surprise” one month early. I still feel that was a correct assessment today. I have not seen, heard, nor read, anything that has had the capability to change my mind on that. A government using one crisis after another to implement more and more government programs, and laws, to gain more and more control over the people is one of the oldest political strategies in the book. Add to the mixture an American populace as naive, as the current generation of Americans, and you have a political plum ready to be plucked and the democrats/socialists, including the Obama Administration, have plucked that plum with élan and flair! I remain convinced we are seeing is a beneficent dictatorship aborning.

Example, we told you early on that if nothing were done the current recession would be over around Christmas of this year. Well, reluctant government agencies now tell us, the recession is already showing signs of ending. Guess who’ll get the thanks and praise for ending a recession that had a limited run right from the first day it began. It would be laughable if it w ere not so serious.

So much we conservatives warned America about, has already happened and the poorly educated among us have swallowed the threats and dire warnings coming from our socialist government as they use the cover of impending disaster to move their control of the power of government of it’s citizens ever tighter and, in so doing, making it even more difficult to rescue what will be left of a free America from their clutches.

We predicted many months ago that the 2008 election was the last free election in America. We have been scoffed at for having the stones to say what many others know, too, but, desire the praise of men, rather than speaking the truth - no matter how difficult it is, no matter how unpalatable it is.
While I am on this subject let me tell you how I see the 2010 election shaking out. It will be another democrat rout of republicans. And it will continue to be democrats winning in landslides until the republican party sucks up enough courage to break away from the control of the socialist in their midst and the so-called “moderate republicans” who are, frankly only democrats in republican clothing.

So who or what rattled my cage today and brought on this fit pique? Something called the “Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009”. So, what’s wrong with it? Have you looked at the definition of “dangerous terrorists” in America today? If you haven’t and you finally decide to check out who the Obama government is going to go after, you will see, and quickly, that most real conservatives in America are on either one list or multiple lists!

According to World Net Daily: “A new gun law being considered in Congress, if aligned with Department of Homeland Security memos labeling everyday Americans as potential "threats," could potentially deny firearms to pro-lifers, gun-rights advocates, tax protesters, animal rights activists, and a host of others – any already on the expansive DHS watch list for potential "extremism." World Net Daily goes on to explain: “The bill requires only that the potential firearm transferee is "appropriately suspected" of preparing for a terrorist act and that the attorney general "has a reasonable belief" that the gun might be used in connection with terrorism.”

Care to venture a guess as to who introduced this bill? Well, according the article it was none other than Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. (Please note the “R” behind Mr. King’s name.) Already some of us “Gun Nuts” (By “Gun Nuts” I mean Americans who still believe the US Constitution - in particular the Second Amendment - means what it says.) are screaming bloody murder that this bill allows the federal government to just suspend an American citizens rights, without a trial , or even so much as “proof”, that the person being denied those rights is, in fact, a terrorist. To deny you your constitutional rights to own a firearm in America, all the government needs to do is SUSPECT you may be “dangerous.” You can read the article for yourself HERE.

You need to take a look at this bill making it’s way through the Congress. It is HR 2159. It is referred to as: “A bill to increase public safety by permitting the Attorney General to deny the transfer of a firearm or the issuance of firearms or explosives licenses to a known or suspected dangerous terrorist.” You’ll find it HERE.

I’d like to believe that Americans would rise up in righteous fury over this bill and let their congressperson and Senator know how they feel about it and be darned sure their representatives to the Congress understand that if they support this bill they will not receive the support of the American electorate at the next election. But, honestly, I don’t see that happening. Not any more. It is far easier to sit back and allow the government to take care of us - right? Sure we can. Sure we can.

Today, May 10^th, in North Carolina and South Carolina, is Confederate Memorial Day.

Yesterday, I attended the local “Sons of Confederate Veterans” Confederate Memorial Day celebration as I do every year, and, as I have done for several years, I presented a few remarks concerning the Confederate Soldier, or as I sometimes refer to them, the “Southern Knights.”

As this was a celebration of the southern warrior, I spoke on the attributes of the Confederate soldier… who he was, what he was like, what he did, what he felt, why he did what he did, and why he felt he MUST do what he did, and so on and so forth.

When one studies the Confederate soldier, one quickly comes to understand that there has never been, before or after, the American “War Between the States”, a warrior quite like that “Southern Knight”. As a combat soldier, he was more akin to the various “special forces” of numerous militaries around the world than he was to the “regular” soldiers we are acquainted with today. He was a killing machine… with good manners. It is impossible to overlook the fact that 800,000 badly equipped, badly clothed, badly fed, but wonderfully led Confederate soldiers managed to hold at bay 2-1/2 million federal troops of the US military for four of the longest, bloodiest, years in American history. They were masterful at the art of war.

It is absolutely shameful that political correctness has driven its talons so deeply into American consciousness that to speak of the Confederate soldier in anyway other than a defender of slavery is totally unacceptable. Modern day ancestors of the Confederate soldier are taught that their great, great, great, great grandfathers were traitors! There is no other way to address that accusation but to say it is a bald-faced lie. The Confederate soldier was a citizen of another country. He was a citizen of the Confederate States of America, not the United States of America. One cannot betray a country of which one is not a citizen. Plus, there is this fact: Something like 97% of the citizens of the Confederacy owned NO slaves. Common sense says men do not put their lives on the line, in a war, to preserve another man’s right to hold another human being in bondage!

As I spoke to the gathering in one of our oldest, and most beautiful, cemeteries yesterday an article I had recently read persistently nagged at me. It was an article by Paul Gottfried entitled: “ On Loving To Hate The South.”

Referring to my cohorts in the “Sons of Confederate Veterans” Mr. Gottfried said: “You may take pride in those whom you honor as your linear ancestors but equally in the anger of those who would begrudge you the right to honor them. What your critics find inexcusable is that you are celebrating your people’s past, which was a profoundly conservative one based on family and community, and those who created and defended it. For your conspicuous indiscretions, I salute you; and I trust that generations to come will take note of your willingness to defy the spirit of what is both a cowardly and tyrannical age.” Mr. Gottfried nailed it! Mr. Gottfried had said earlier in his article that we “Southern traditionalists are still celebrating a pre-bourgeois, agrarian, and communally structured world. It appealed to hierarchy, place, and family; and its members displayed no special interest in reaching out to alien cultures. Such ideals and attitudes and the landed, manorial society out of which they came, point back to a nineteenth century conservative configuration.”

It is here we find the root cause of the virulent hatred for the ensign of the South, the Confederate Battle Flag, and for the hatred of the people of the Southern region of the United States. It is our conservatism. It is our unyielding determination to hold on to the conservative values of our Southern ancestors.

I watched my fellow Southerners stand in silent reverence as the troops bearing the US flag passed and I watched as we all stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the US flag, and then the NC state flag, and to the Confederate flag. I saw no contradiction. This was a gathering of conservative people who love and honor their country, the USA, just as their Southern Ancestors loved and honored THEIR country, the Confederate States of America. We were remembering THEM and honoring THEM and the commonality of our conservative philosophy which is STILL alive and well in their off-spring today.

Many of us in the South today worry that we see many of the same causes of the conflict of the 1860’s reflected in the political conflicts between liberal and conservative Americans today. Having yet not fully recovered from the so-called “reconstruction” of the South after that bitter war, we are concerned that as remote as it may seem, to those not versed in the history of this country, we may be headed for another conflict in which Americans will square-off with fellow Americans.

These are dangerous times for America. Standing in silence and watching those two red, white, and blue flags that once flew over the two nations that briefly occupied this land was a sobering moment. To realize that only the people living below those flags can prevent a repetition of history was equally as sobering. It was a jolting moment for this scribe and for the others who approached me after the ceremony to express their similar fears.

Never has America been as divided since the War Between the States. We are, today, two countries living beneath a single flag, as a gentleman from South Carolina reminded me. As he spoke his eyes were gazing at the sacred soil of that old cemetery and his head was slowly shaking from side to side as if to say “NO” to the unthinkable. But, I could not escape the thought that it obviously wasn’t unthinkable as we stood just six feet, or so, above the evidence screaming in silence a warning that history says will go unheeded.

Ever since the “global warming” lie began, for at least two decades or more, I have been writing about what a huge hoax it was and is. For all that time I believed that if the truth got out and reached enough people, they would conclude it was a lie.

The entire credibility of major so-called environmental organizations and institutions such as the United Nations rests on whether there ever was a greater than natural warming cycle; one that would cause harm to the world. Patiently I pointed out that the most recent natural warming cycle had begun around 1850 following a lengthy little ice age of some five hundred years duration.

In the United States, despite all the braying about warmest years and such, the height of the warming cycle appears to have been in the 1930s, causing havoc among farmers, particularly in the Midwest. In 1998, meteorologists and climatologists began to take note of a cooling cycle. It has been gaining momentum since then. Yes, the Earth is cooling, not warming.

Despite this, the White House and the U.S. Congress—at least its Democrats—have been telling everyone that, because of global warming, the United States government must impose draconian regulations and restrictions on “greenhouse gas” emissions, by which they primarily mean carbon dioxide (CO2). The claim, utterly false, is that CO2 is “forcing” a warming that will kill us all if we don’t reduce energy and other emissions.

The utterly vile politicians advancing this—I will not name them because the very act causes nausea—had better begin to pay some attention to public opinion on the subject because the Gallup, Zogby and Rasmussen polling organizations all are reporting that large majorities of people no longer believe their lies.

In a recent edition of U.S. News & World Report, one of the three weekly newsmagazines, all of whom have slavishly repeated lies about global warming, Paul Bedard who writes “Washington Whispers” risked employment by reporting that Al Gore’s vast, self-enriching campaign to advance the lies about global warming is losing out to the truth.

"They have failed,” said Gallup Poll editor, Frank Newport. “Any measure that we look at shows Al Gore’s losing at the moment. The public is just not that concerned.”

Turns out that people are more concerned about the economy. And well they should be given the insanity being perpetrated by the White House and Congress. If there is a God in Heaven, there has to be a huge backlash in the 2010 midterm elections.

As Newport points out, “some 41% believe global warming claims are exaggerated,” adding “that’s the highest we’ve seen.” Zogby and Rasmussen report comparable results, give or take some percentage points.

Zogby asked people what they thought of the “cap-and-trade” legislation that would regulate CO2 emissions and got the following results: Support 30% Oppose 57% Not sure 13%.

In late April, Rasmussen reported that, “Just one-out-of-three voters (34%) now believe global warming is caused by human activity, the lowest finding yet in Rasmussen Reports national surveying. However, a plurality (48%) of the Political Class believes humans are to blame.”

The “Political Class” is the enemy. They are the scoundrels that stand to line their pockets by investing in companies that will benefit from “cap-and-trade” and Obama’s lies about “clean energy.” They are buying into solar and wind energy companies that are receiving billions in federal subsidies and grants. Anybody who invested in ethanol production has already lost their shirt.

The Waxman-Markey Climate Bill should make of their names the equivalent of Benedict Arnold because both are advancing legislation that would destroy the nation’s economy. The bill requires the nation to reduce its CO2 emissions by 2050 by 82% below current levels. That means a vast reduction in energy use, i.e. coal, natural gas, and oil.

Why would they advocate reducing emissions to avoid a global warming that is not happening? Why are so many in Congress wedded to this hoax? And will Americans permit them to get away with this?

Instead of doing everything possible to encourage energy companies to find and extract the energy reserves the United States requires to function and grow, the White House and Congress is doing everything in its power to restrict energy use.

Die, global warming, die! If this greatest hoax does not die, the United States will be forced to commit economic suicide.

Two years ago, in July 0f 2007 we warned our readers this was coming when we said the following: “There is an election coming next year. You can bet the farm that if Democrats maintain control of both houses of Congress and gain the Presidency as well, the Fairness Doctrine WILL be re-instated ASAP! That is a given!” Well, it happened, and now, just four months into the “Obama regime,” and the FCC is moving to do just that.

On May 7th, 209 the new Diversity Committee of the FCC met. There is not much diversity on the Diversity Committee. Reports describe it as a group made up of a long list of left wing grievance groups and just a handful of actual “broadcast people” thrown in for… uh… diversity.” In an article titled: FCC Announces May 7 'Diversity Committee' Meeting - Behold a New 'Fairness' Doctrine by Seton Motley, Mr. Motley says: “Not a single conservative organization is taking part in this Commission - more than a dozen Leftist groups are. Look, One of the chief concerns of the left is freedom of speech. It is extremely troublesome for them. In order for the left to thrive they must control the flow of information to the public. They must neutralize the broadcast media. There are no “Ifs,” “ands,” or “buts’ about it. And that is exactly what the Left is trying to do with this NEW “Fairness” (“Diversity”) Doctrine. They intend to neutralize the Broadcast Media.

On February 26, Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin – a champion of the old "Fairness" Doctrine - sponsored an amendment, which passed with a 57-41 Party-line vote. Durbin’s amendment forces the FCC to "take actions to encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership and to ensure that broadcast station licenses are used in the public interest."

The Broadcast Media has always been a powerful force for freedom. It is truly the voice of the people. THAT is what makes it SO Dangerous to the left. Therefore, they intend to shutdown radio that insists on broadcasting conservative thoughts and ideas.

We told you months ago the next attempt to impose the left’s control of the airwaves would not be called The Fairness Doctrine. Well, it is not. It is being referred to today as “Media Diversity.”

So who is UnFairAir? Well their website says:” UnFairAir is the web-based component of the newly-formed Free Radio Coalition, a non-profit coalition of free-press advocates and radio-people — hosts, producers, engineers and ad sales people, small station owners and network managers — whose jobs are at risk due to new threats of censorship. UnFairAir will fight for freedom of the press and freedom of audiences to listen and call in — to participate in America's free marketplace of ideas.“Talk” is the economic driver for AM radio, especially in small towns and rural America. If “Talk” gets censored, “Talk” gets killed and AM radio dies with it. The current political target is conservative talk radio, but it won't stop there.

UnFairAir goes on to say: “Government censorship has many disguises. By whatever name — “Equal Time,” “Localism,” or the Orwellian “Fairness Doctrine,” — it is censorship and un-American. Sadly, in the wake of the 2008 elections and FCC changes, powerful politicians in Washington have become emboldened to press for direct or creeping censorship of news and talk radio.

The First Amendment guarantees Americans the right to freedom of speech. It does not, however, guarantee Americans they will be listened to and agreed with.

A blog, on the Internet, is a perfect example of the way the Freedom of Speech thing works. It is also an example of my not having the right to be heard! I can make my opinions known here and you can decide whether you want to read what I have to say, or not. There are no guarantees.

We continue to warn our fellow conservative bloggers that our time is coming. It is only a matter of time before the left comes after conservatives on the Internet. You can bet your bottom dollar they are burning the midnight oil in skull sessions racking their brains for a way, anyway, to shut us up.

As a retired broadcaster and a long-time blogger, I understand the power of speech… disseminating an idea to listeners and readers. I do not want to see that right taken away. But, as I sit here at the keyboard today, I am convinced that the left is on a campaign to do just that. They, in my opinion, intend to censor the right, to shut us up. They will brook no resistance to their left wing, socialist plans for America.

It is difficult to see what is going on when one’s head is buried in the sand. Not only is it an exercise in futility for those who CHOOSE to be “sight challenged”, but it forces one to present a rather inviting target to others who may be coveting an opportunity to inflict pain surreptitiously.

We are speaking, of course, of our European neighbors on this planet, and other nations, as well, including those of the UN, who refuse to believe that Israel is going to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.

I, on the other hand, believe Israel will attack Iran and, I believe the plans have long since been made and, I suspect deeply, that Israeli agents are on the ground in Iran and have been for months, busily identifying targets and laying in coordinates of said targets and other odds and ends required for a successful air attack with smart bombs, and bunker busters, of the latest types, including those with delayed fusing and deeper penetration, etc.

Now, I have no “inside” source, no source “close to the top” or any of that sort of journalistic “mumbo-jumbo” speak. What I do have is a country boy’s intuition gained and honed from long hours in the woods and swamps of the Carolinas hunting game and observing the sundry ways the prey will try to avoid being “bagged”. These same rules of nature apply when a nation suspects it is about to be bagged by another ~ and ~ when the hunter nation prepares to make the prey’s worse nightmare’s come true.

When one does that, it becomes as evident as daylight that Israel is preparing to strike Iran~ and~ Iran knows it~ and is trying to prepare itself while it maintains a façade of “What? Me Worry?” around themselves as they prepare to be ripped apart by Israeli bombs.

Recently, Israel took part in military exercises at Gibraltar, a British colony at the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea. That colony just happens to be some 3800 miles from Israel. The distances involved are very nearly the same as those the Israeli Air force would have to deal with in an attack on Iran. A coincidence? Hardly. In today’s military world, especially the military world of the Middle East, coincidence is extremely rare.

As the Obama Administration seems dead set against assisting Israel in it’s effort to save the life of it’s nation, of it’s home, the IDF is doing something it does better than any other military on the planet. They improvise. One of the biggest roadblocks to an Israeli bombing raid on Iran is the distance. Getting the Israeli aircraft to Iran, make the bombing runs, and make it back to Israel is almost impossible. I interjected the word “ALMOST” because this is Israel we’re talking about! These are the military folks who took the world’s best tank and made it better. These are the people who took one of the world’s best fighter/attack aircraft and made it better. They still have that “can do” spirit about them and they seem to be able to channel it in the direction that will help their country survive. And make no mistake about it… we are talking about the survival of Israel as a nation!

Look, the Middle East is about to explode into a third world war. The people who study such things are looking at Pakistan with dread these days as the Taliban draw ever closer with their probing battles in and around Pakistan’s capital and strategic facilities. Soon, they will be ready… and they will take the country of Pakistan and, with it, they get a ready made nuclear arsenal. That’s right! The world’s terrorists will have nuclear bombs!

Israel cannot sit around while the Obama Administration “talks” with Iran to gain some sort of diplomatic “brownie points.” No, Israel has to take Iran off the table, ASAP, and prepare for whatever ELSE the world’s terrorists have planned for her AFTER THEY, TOO, have THE BOMB. (Do not think, for one moment, the Taliban will not be distributing atomic bombs to fellow terrorists around the world, for they most certainly will.)

Just as 2 + 2 = 4 in basic math… basic reckoning tells us that Israel + Gibraltar = IRAN. I am satisfied that Israel has solved the attack aircraft re-fueling problems and the Raid on Iran is one step, a HUGE step, closer.

If there is one thing Americans know about Iran it is that Iran takes hostages.

Iran did so from November 4, 1979 until January 20, 1981, holding fifty-two United States diplomats as the Islamic revolution swept over that nation, replacing the Shah with a handful of fanatical ayatollahs preparing the way for the return of a mythical twelfth imam. The scenario for that is the equivalent of Armageddon, involving massive conflicts and death.

The Islamic Revolution that has been roiling the Middle East as a resistance movement to everything modern does not recognize any kind of international laws. Its weapon of choice is terror. The immunity extended to diplomats is one that is conspicuously ignored by Muslim terrorists.

In 1973, the Saudi embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, was stormed by Palestinian Fatah terrorists who took U.S. ambassador Cleo Noel and the embassy’s charge d’affaires, George Curtis Moore, hostage. On the orders of Yassir Arafat, both were murdered.

To this day, successive U.S. administrations insist that Fatah is the only Palestinian group with whom either the U.S. or Israel should negotiate peace. Peace is not Fatah’s goal, nor ever was. It is an illusion and has proved a very deadly one.

The greatest illusion, however, is to negotiate with Iran in the belief that it will ever keep its word and yet DEBKAfile, an Israeli news agency that has proven a reliable source of information, reports that the Obama administration is either preparing to negotiate or is already in back door negotiations with Iran “to permit the passage to Afghanistan of fresh U.S. troops, weapons, and supplies across Iranian territory.”

By air and by sea, the Obama administration is proposing that Iranians permit over-flights from the U.S. air base at Al Udeid in Qutar and a sea route that would pass by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s main naval base at Chah-Bahar, situated on the Arabian Sea near Iran’s border with Pakistan.

Barely two years ago the Iranians took fifteen British Royal Navy personnel hostage for two weeks in April 2007. The object was to “encourage” the British to remove their forces from southern Iraq.

Though it has received conspicuously little coverage, Roxanna Saberi, an American journalist, sits in an Iranian jail as this is written, recently found guilty of espionage. It is, of course, a lie.

The idea of putting U.S. troops, by air or sea, within the easy grasp of Iran borders on madness.

“DEBKAfile’s sources ask how much leverage against Iran’s drive for a nuclear bomb will be left to Washington when the U.S. becomes dependent on Tehran for its war supplies to Afghanistan.”

If the Obama administration could find a more simple-minded and dangerous option to take with Iran, it is the proposed movement of our troops and supplies with the permission of a nation that regards America as its greatest enemy and has made repeated threats of annihilation against our ally Israel.

A full court U.S. diplomatic effort is being made with nations in the Middle East to convince them that this proposal to seek Iran’s cooperation does not threaten U.S. relations with them, but neither Egypt, nor Saudi Arabia is convinced, nor should they be. Iran’s openly acknowledged antipathy to both those nations gives them cause.

A nuclear-armed Iran is not just a threat to Israel. It is a threat to the entire Middle East and, on the top of long-range missiles, a threat to Europe and India as well.

This proposal is an invitation for Iran to take U.S. military and weapons hostage at their pleasure. It is a plan that is doomed to failure and worse. It reeks of a Machiavellian plan to neutralize our power to influence events in the Middle East.

We have heard it said that a third party in America doesn’t stand a chance and that the only hope for conservatives is to stay in the Republican Party and work to change it.

Although, that is a good argument, I hold that it is wrong.

Look, we conservatives have been in the Republican Party in vast numbers since at least the Nixon Administration and we have ALWAYS been treated as the “red-headed-step child.” They tolerate us, so they can get our votes every couple of years, and once the ballots are cast, we are shoved back into the basement and out of sight. I can’t speak for you, but I’m tired of it.

It is correct, I believe that a conservative party will not elect anyone to the Congress or to the White house for a few years, maybe a couple of decades, even, but, here’s the thing, as I see it. As a stand-alone party, we will take a huge chunk of the numbers from the GOP… and a few from the dems. So, when there is a major push on by one party, or the other, to pass a piece of legislation, they are going to need our support to get it done. That means they will have to court us, to woo us, if you will. That alone will give us the voice, and the influence; we do not have, as of today, in the way our government is run.

There is much to be said for being a member of a political party of which one can be proud. Ok. So we don’t have our own congressman/woman or senator or president for a while. Do we have one now???, I mean REALLY?

I have been a Republican since I registered on my 21st birthday in South Carolina. I am now 68 years old. (Even before I was old enough to register to vote I was out beating the bushes for Strom Thurman.) When Thurman went Republican, so did South Carolina.

I am ashamed of what the GOP has become. I know it is trite, but it IS true that there is almost no difference between the dems and repubs anymore. That is NOT good for the country. That is why, if for no other reason, a third party is so badly needed. The American electorate NEEDS an alternative to the two old, stale, parties. They have led this country into socialism and that is the “death knell” for democracy.

The Tea Parties, held across America, are an excellent way to forge a foundation of like mined Americans interested in rescuing America from the clutches of the socialists who now have a strangle hold on our government, financial system, our auto industry, and soon… our healthcare industry. When do we say enough is enough and begin to fight back. Waiting on the GOP to fight the socialists is wasted time. It is not going to happen. No, the rescue of America must be done from a separate platform, not the republican platform.

It has been said that the Democrats and the Republicans, the two major parties in America, construct such formidable barriers to third parties that third party voting occurs only under extreme circumstances. Well, look around you; if current circumstances aren’t “extreme” in America today… then I don’t know the meaning of “extreme.”

There is no question the republicans and the democrats will throw everything they have at a third party, erect every kind of barrier they can to block that party’s way, and make every effort to steal (They would call it “co-opting”) popular ideas and positions of a third party. It has proven, over the years, to be an effective way to stifle a third party.

On the other hand we can sit back and watch our beloved country go the way of so many others through out history, and that is… to rest atop the ash heap of said history, or, we can TRY to save her.

One of our Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson, once said: "My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!” Mr. Jefferson was correct then… and… he could make that same statement today and be just as correct.

I hope we conservatives will not allow our country to remain in the hands of the socialists now in charge. For socialism, like a disease, eats away at the soul of a country until that country dies.

The next few years are going to be hellish for conservatives as we watch the slow agonizing death of our country. We can sit on the sidelines and watch; we can remain in the Republican Party and hope for change within the GOP, (That option, I’m afraid is the same as sitting on the sidelines and watching!) or, we can TRY to create a third party, a “rescue” party, if you will, and make an effort, at least, to save this country we love so much.

What will it be, conservatives? What will it be?

Here we go again! The fight for the Supreme Court. The control of which is, in all probability, the most important in the American government. Why? Because the Court has the power to tell you and me exactly what the US Constitution REALLY says.

No matter that the Constitution, as written is, in fact, easily understood. The men who wrestled over the original wording of that document made every effort to make it easily understood. That was an important, if not THE MOST important, part of their mission. And they completed it beautifully. So far, no other country has been able to duplicate it in its simplicity and its beauty. Not to mention its power. The only country to come close was the Confederate States of America. If you take the time to read the CSA Constitution, you will see that it is basically the US Constitution with some minor changes. For instance, the President of the Confederacy was limited to one six year term. Plus, you must factor in that one of the reasons those 11 states, and parts of two others, left the Union was because the original constitution was being trashed then, come to think of it, very much as it is being trashed today …by the very same government.

Supreme Court Justices are the most important reason we choose which political party will lead America. For “yours truly” considering how the presidential candidate will choose justices for the Supreme Court is the deciding factor for my vote.

Of the three branches of the US government, for all intents and purposes, the Supreme Court is the most powerful branch of our government. It is they who decide if what the Congress does is legal. They decide if what the President does, or proposes, is legal or is not legal.

One need not be a lawyer or a judge to be a US Supreme Court Justice. One needn’t have read a single page of a single law book to be a US Supreme Court Justice in the US. One only needs to be approved by the US Senate. It’s referred to as the “advice and consent” of the Senate. What it really means, of course, is a majority vote of the Senate. Because the Constitution does not set any qualifications for service as a Justice, the President may nominate anyone to serve. As a result, there have been some major screwups in appointments to the court. Indeed, the justice stepping down in June, Souter, was thought, by the President who appointed him, President George H. W. Bush, to be a conservative. He turned out to be anything BUT a conservative. Many of his votes on the court have given conservatives nightmares.

If you are thinking there is a chance to get a conservative, or a moderate, onto the Court this time, do not delude yourself. It isn’t going to happen. Mr. Obama will get whomever he chooses. That is a given, unless that nominee is found to have committed treason… and that might give the majority in the Senate a moment of “pause” and then… they will vote for him or her. The point is Obama WILL get the nominee of his choice approved by the Senate.

So far the Obama administration has managed to hold back a slew of controversial projects that those on the left, and the ultra-left, are foaming at the mouth to get out into the open and onto the floor of both the House and the Senate. Things like a new immigration policy. Basically a new immigration policy, to the Obama people, means “let ‘em in and give ‘em citizenship so they can vote for the democratic candidate. Then there is the “gays in the military” policy change. To the Obama people that means the same thing as a new immigartion policy… let ‘em in so they will vote for the democratic candidate. (They haven’t a clue as to the damage they will do to the US military by this single action. It will decimate the ranks first thing. Enlistments will fall through the floor, re-enlistments will fall even worse. Troop behavior will deteriorate into something unrecognisable. (US troop behavior is one of the best of any military in the world. That will not last.) And, of course the Obama people feel they must do something to protect access to abortion. That is another “hot-button issue” that will bring Americans out into the streets. So far, the Obama Administration has been able to keep these issues locked up in the basement, out of sight… but that cannot last. We can prepare for debates on minority rights and on privacy rights, too. Those two, alone, are going to be contentious as all get out!

As we said, Obama has been able to avoid debate on many of them, but once the debate over the new Supreme Court Justice begins, tbose issues are going to come pouring out of the “lock-up” into the light of day and it’s going to get very hot in the kitchen.

We don’t look for a candidate's qualifications to be a justice to be of prime importance in the upcoming nomineee. The left doesn’t look at the court the same way we conservarives do. Conservatives want justices drenched in constitutional law and experienced in preparing and arguing cases, and judging cases, and,… in other words… we want a justice to be qualified “in the law” to be a justice. The Left, on the other hand will look at the make-up of the seven-person court and count the number of men and women and minorities~~ and then~~ they will look for someone to “balance” the court.

At this moment I expect the left to insist on a black, or Hispanic, woman to fill the spot Souter is leaving. Of course the left does insist their nominee be about as far left as Joe Stalin, so we can expect an extreme leftist, quite possibly a socialist …thus, the title to this piece.

Now, we conservatives can make all the fuss we want to but nothing is going to change the fact that the US Supreme Court is going to be a liberal court for decades to come. That is the greatest loss of all to the country.

US energy and climate plans would drag us back to 1905 – or 1862

Think back to 1905.

The Wright brothers had just made history. Coal and wood heated homes. Few had telephones or electricity. AC units were handheld fans. Ice blocks cooled ice boxes. New York City collected 900,000 tons of vehicle emissions – horse manure – annually, and dumped it into local rivers. Lung and intestinal diseases were rampant. Life expectancy was 47.

Today, President Obama wants to prevent “runaway global warming,” by slashing US carbon dioxide emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. According to Oak Ridge National Laboratory data, this reduction would return the United States to emission levels last seen in those halcyon days of 1905!

But America’s 1905 population was 84 million, versus 308 million today. We didn’t drive or fly, or generate electricity for offices, factories, schools or hospitals. To account for those differences, we’d have to send CO2 emissions back to 1862 levels.

The Civil War was raging. Nine of ten Americans were farmers (versus 2% today). The industrial revolution was in its infancy. Malaria halted construction on the Washington, DC aqueduct. Typhus and cholera killed thousands more every year. Life expectancy was 40 – half of what affordable hydrocarbon, hydroelectric and nuclear power helped make it today.

None of this seems to matter to the Obama Administration or liberal Democrats. The 648-page Waxman-Markey climate bill would compel an 80% CO2 reduction, by imposing punitive cap-and-tax restrictions on virtually every hydrocarbon-using business, motorist and family.

That’s making some legislators nervous, as they ponder the health, economic and employment effects of restricting energy supplies and driving up the cost of everything we eat, drink, make and do – especially in 20 states that get 60-98% of their electricity from coal.

So to prod Congress into action, or achieve the 80% target via regulatory edict, the Obama Environmental Protection Agency has decreed that natural, plant-enhancing, life-sustaining carbon dioxide “endangers human health and welfare.” The authoritarian actions it is contemplating would regulate cars, trains, boats and planes; pave the way for regulating farms and factories, hospitals, schools, malls and apartment buildings, computer servers and lawn mowers; and send energy prices skyrocketing.

It is astonishing how casually activists, bureaucrats, politicians and even some corporate executives advocate arbitrary CO2 reduction targets and timetables – as though they were possible, desirable or necessary.

The targets reflect worst-case scenarios generated by computer models. But the models assume human CO2 now drives climate changes that have been occurring for eons. They ignore many natural forces, and inadequately analyze incomplete data, based on our still limited grasp of complex climate processes.

They cannot accurately replicate last year’s regional climate shifts or predict changes even one year in the future. They ignore Earth’s history of repeated climate changes, and failed to anticipate the slowly declining global temperatures of 1995-2008.

Thousands of climate and other scientist say there is no climate crisis, and CO2 plays little or no substantive role in climate change. A new Rasmussen poll finds that 48% of registered American voters now believe climate change is caused by planetary and other natural forces. Only a third still believe it’s due mostly to humans.

Climate realists also recognize that, even if America eliminated all of its greenhouse gas emissions, increasing Chinese and Indian carbon dioxide emissions would promptly offset our draconian cuts.

This alarms Climate Armageddonites. They fear it’s now or never to wrest control over energy and the economic, manufacturing and transportation activities it fuels. Now or never to profit from cap-and-tax laws, renewable energy mandates, and a forced shift away from hydrocarbons that now provide 85% of US energy.

“Socially responsible” corporate groups like the Carbon Offset Providers Coalition are banking on passage of Waxman-Markey or similar legislation. They want to ensure that any CO2 regime is “rigorous and efficient,” to foster high carbon prices, maximum subsidies and strong profits.

President Obama says cap-and-trade will “raise” $656 billion over the next decade. The National Economic Council and other analysts put the tax bite at $1.3 to $3.0 trillion.

This is not monetary manna. The wealth will be extracted from every hydrocarbon-using business, motorist and family.

The intrusive energy rules and taxes will clobber households, manufacturers, farmers, truckers and airlines. The poorest families will get energy welfare, to offset part of their $500-3,000 increase in annual heating, cooling, transportation and food expenses. Everyone else will have to trim health, vacation, charity, college and retirement budgets to pay for energy.

Every increase in energy prices will result in more businesses laying off workers or closing their doors, more jobs sent overseas, more families forced into welfare, more school districts, hospitals and churches into whirlpools of red ink.

Exactly how will they, your family, your business eliminate 80% of CO2 emissions by 2050? Exactly how will you pay those skyrocketing fuel bills?

The Nature Conservancy predicts that, by 2030, “eco-friendly” wind, solar and biofuel projects will require extra land equivalent to Minnesota, to produce the energy we now get from oil, gas and coal. Interior Secretary Salazar’s proposal to have offshore wind turbines replace gas, coal and nuclear electricity generators would mean 336,000 3.25MW behemoths off our coasts – if they operate 24/7/365. Far more if they don’t.
Where exactly will we site those turbines – and get the billions of tons of concrete, steel, copper and fiberglass it will take to build and install the expensive, unreliable, subsidized monsters?

My grandmother used to say, The only good thing about the “good old days” is that they’re gone.

Few Americans will be enthralled by the prospect of returning to that era. Fewer will relish the hefty price tag – and damage to their freedoms, budgets, jobs and living standards.

The White House, EPA and Congress need to take a chill pill.

If it seems to you that the "Change Administration" continues to expend its primary energies to campaigning rather than governing, you're on the right track. With scores of Executive Branch positions still left vacant, the spectacle unveiled for Obama's 100 Day mark apparently took most of the Administration's energy. This included erroneous polling by supportive MainStreamMedia.
In a glaring example, an absurb AP poll, headlined on Time Warner and other outlets with this caption: "AP Poll: After Obama's 100 days, U.S. on right track."

One fly in the ointment of this much-publicized poll is that it included a mere 21% Republican sampling - with a whopping 38% now identified as "Independent." As one blogger remarked, it seems that 'the communist state has arrived. AP is Pravda." What happened to the rest of the GOP? Applying the ongoing "New Party" strategy, the swiftest means to alter political reality is to use the Media to tell the public what you want to be true. This involves considerable attention and time - but if it keeps your "candidate’s popularity afloat, well, then it's worth it. And let's not leave out the new First Lady, who is also reported this week, in another fallacious poll, to be approved of by 87% of Americans - leaving many of US wondering just who did they call?!

In an astonishing report, Politico substantiates the "Obama campaign still funds operations." Its review indicates that, having entered the new year with $18 Million dollars, it's now down to a mere $10 Million.” Last month alone, it paid $74,000 in payroll, $23,000 for rent, $10,000 for polling and $6,400 for travel. Other interesting payments during the first three months of the year, the period covered by Wednesday's report, included $688,000 in legal fees to the firm of Bob Bauer — the top lawyer for the campaign, the Democratic National Committee, the Obama political group Organizing for America, and the Obama family — and $6,400 to a firm founded by Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden." Pulling out all the stops for his 100-Day marker not only included biased poll reports but a pointless hour of prime time coverage. Having already leveraged more prime time coverage than President Clinton was given his entire term in office - millions of viewers were coerced to sit politely through Obama's tele-prompter guided Talking Points - unchallenged by reporters. In a full hour only 13 questions were permitted, including one riveting query about what has most "enchanted" the new Commander-in-Chief since January. The rest of US may be relieved to note that, while the economy continues to sink and Barney Frank's Housing fix law has qualified one homeowner for salvation over a full 3 months, Obama has plenty of "perks" to boost his spirits. These include a bombshell of unintended "bad press" - at extravagant expense - but too inept and careless not to be criticized. The Defense Department terrorizing of New York City, when a "photo shoot" of Air Force One, accompanied by fighter jets, swooped over the downtown area spoke volumes of this administration’s contempt for both protocol and public safety. Turns out this thoughtless fiasco was created on behalf of - what else but the Change Administrations' latest marketing video. See the reaction of New York's mayor here, after citizens below panicked and many commercial buildings were evacuated in a rationally-based fear that another air attack was unfolding.

The worst debacle of thinly disguised brainwashing, however, was GOP Senator Arlen
Specter’s carefully timed announcement of his withdrawal from the Republican party to join the un-Democratic majority with which he has been voting all year anyway! Seems his rival for the 2010 PA race, Conservative Pat Toomey is so far ahead in the polls, the Senator has no other option for defending his re-election than to switch labels (but not gears) to bring forth more bundles of questionably sourced New Party capital by running under the Democratic banner. The price he paid? No more than his massively televised participation in this week's 100-Day marketing blitz!

In a press conference pathetically punctuated by spin and half-truths, Senator Specter defended his (no doubt planned well in advance) shift by identifying himself as a lonely "Moderate" in a party now ruled by "right-wing" Conservatives. This distorted re-branding of the GOP - and marginalizing of all who object to the "Change" Administration's overhaul of America-, which began with the biased, demeaning coverage of the April 15 public protesters -shows, no sign of letting up soon. It's amusing to note that Sen. Tom Harkin, who was scheduled to speak on FOX News about this political 'upset' bowed out abruptly, without explanation. This after Specter made publicly clear that his deal with Senate Majority Leader Reid provides full rights to DEM seniority - since his 1st 1980 GOP election. Specter proudly stated that he now holds party seniority over most others, including IA Sen. Harkin himself!

For all its coverage, Senator Specter's un-newsworthy flash left only one question not only unanswered but also not even asked. What about the voters of Pennsylvania who elected him as a Republican??? What exactly gives him the right to change horses after he was elected by his constituents to serve - not himself - but them? This is one of those times when I WISH I had been WRONG!!! Unfortunately, it now appears that I was right… but… I honestly thought we’d have more time. But the “ASG” (AMERICAN SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT) intends to strike while the iron is hot! By keeping the American people off kilter, rocked back on our heels with every kind of crisis they could throw at us, they have moved swiftly to trash the US Constitution, crush democracy, and enslave over 300 million Americans within a formerly free nation.

Now comes Senate Bill S773. We have been sleeping with one eye open, squinting at Washington, waiting for the other shoe to fall. Apparently, it is on the way down, even as I scribble these few words onto this electronic paper before me.

Using the “crisis of the day” as cover, the left is busily working to solidify their hold on the government and impose their brand of socialism on an obviously unsuspecting electorate. Why “unsuspecting”? Because the MsM (Mainstream Media) has become sycophants for the Obama Administration and the socialist left in power in Washington. These days if you want objective news reporting on anything happening in America’s government, you have to search for news sources offshore. It is something I have been doing for years as a result of the left-wing bias of the American media.

There is a new site you need to visit, if, that is, you are the least bit interested in preserving free speech on the broadcast airwaves of America and on the INTERNET. In addition, under the guise of "cyberspace security", Senators Rockefeller, Snowe, and Nelson have introduced S773 which would, critics say, give the federal government control over the internet including, under emergency conditions, the right of the President to shut down the whole internet or sites on it, including the interruption of email.

When the public is informed about what is happening behind the scenes to threaten their First Amendment rights, they will be outraged. As shown in a recent poll that was commissioned by the coalition and is part of the "Zogby/O'Leary Report's First 100 Days Poll" when 3,937 voters from the last election were asked: "Four members of the U.S. Senate recently introduced a bill that would allow the President of the United States to turn off the internet nationally in the event of an emergency, however the Bill does not DEFINE what constitutes an emergency. Do you support or oppose this bill?" 81.8 % said they would oppose the bill and 5% said they would support it.

"The assault on the First Amendment that is being planned by the Government and the extremist Left is not limited to their desire to silence conservative talk radio," Hedgecock noted. "Newspapers and Television are not immune to the anti-First Amendment efforts that are at work here. In addition, the Internet is also a target for receiving the restrictive aspects of the so-called "fairness doctrine" as a means of stifling criticism for anything that is being reported or commented upon. Apparently the Administration wishes to silence any avenue from which the truth can escape the yoke of government tyranny."

Hedgecock commented further, "This issue -- and the urgent need for a broad-based, aggressive coalition to fight back -- is much bigger than talk radio, and much more dangerous than an effort to simply silence a few voices that the current Administration dislikes. This fight is a First Amendment fight and one that every American must be involved with, which is why we have created 'Don't Touch My Dial' as a vehicle for mass participation."

As a retired broadcaster of nearly 30 years, I can tell you this is serious stuff. It is going to be an all out attack on YOUR First Amendment Rights! Already, Americans have taken to “whispering” in crowded rooms when conversing on topics having to do with the current presidential administration. The “FEAR” has already taken hold. It is a condition Americans are not used to and many do not recognize it, and will not, until it is too late to make a difference.

It is time for Americans to make a stand for the freedom and the liberty our forefathers died to gain for us. Later generations of American patriots lay down their lives to preserve that freedom and those liberties for us. Can we allow ourselves to do less? Well, can we?

The Old America is gone. The New America, aborning, may prove to be an abomination. There is no longer room for apathy and ignorance. There never was. It is time, now, right now, for Americans to save themselves.
